The medical system was not so bad, the LEGAL system surrounding it, is.
FMLA is a joke if white people try it, its seems to be designed as a franchise for the brothers only.
I know any number of people who lost their j.obs while on FMLA.

The proven examples to follow are out there to emulate already. The problem is entrenched entitlements, no doubt: Big fat greedy insurance companies and other corporate leeches off the public trough. Health care is best managed as a totally public endeavor -- EVERYONE is entitled, no exception!. Once you reach that not-so revolutionary conclusion, it's just a SIMPLE matter of distributing resources...

Once the doctor made recommendations to employee and employer, but the lawyers for the various programs and insurances intruded and generated an impossible maze of demands based on non medical issues.
In the states there is no support for those of European decent, all laws and govt mandates seem to focus on providing only for the convenience of the nonproductive classes. Vast numbers of minorities are encouraged by govt to apply and live permanently by claiming any manner of disability and defect to allow themselves a comfortable life of crime and drugs.
There is essentially no ecomomicly positive prodcutivity by vast urban areas, who simply live off the rest of the public with no shame.
Basically only some groups can expect unrestricted permanent govt support for essentially imaginary disability
