Does the Bible Predict God’s End-Times Destruction of Syria — and Is Prophesy About to Unfold Before Our Eyes?
As the situation in Syria intensifies and the United Nations reports that 93,000 civilians have been killed since 2011, the United States is taking increased action. With the deadly drama continuing to progress, it’s likely that some — especially considering Syria’s Biblical and geographical significance — will see End Times prophesy unfolding.

A silly suggestion to non-believers and others who disagree with conservative views on the Bible and an undeniable reality to others, the debate over signs and symbols associated with Jesus’ return presents ever-fascinating discussions. But while author Joel C. Rosenberg embraces prophetic notions, others, like “Bible Answer Man” Hank Hanegraaff reject these ideals.

“The Bible indicates clearly that Damascus will be utterly and completely destroyed at some point in the future — it will be a great cataclysmal [event] and it will be part of God’s judgment,” he explained, claiming that the city will be utterly obliterated.

Certainly some would dismiss this as mere fable, but Rosenberg notes that Damascus has never, to date, been destroyed and he believes that the prophesy could still hold true.

“They have been conquered, but it has never been obliterated and uninhabitable — even though it was conquered in the past it was a livable city and it is today,” he explained. “One begins to watch this mounting carnage and you start to wonder, look at the horrific cruelty of the Assad regime and the radical Islamists who are battling Assad.”

Yes. They will do something real stupid that causes a reaction to destroy Damascus.

Possibly.

Isaiah 17 is very clear that Damascus will be destroyed. It hasn't happened yet, so if you believe in the clear prophecies of the Bible (I do) it must be a future event.

The use of WMDs in the form of chemical weapons) is a new level threat to everyone involved and whether it's Assad or the rebels it doesn't matter. Setting that precedent of willingness to use WMD even on their own people suggests they would not hesitate to do so against their enemies. If they try that on Israel, Damascus could be leveled by Israel in short order. Also, now that the US is openly offering to arm and aid the rebels and Russia is backing Assad, the proxy war could result in either the rebels or Assad blowing up the city themselves.

No doubt about it. Things are getting nasty over there. Biblically nasty.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Would using chemical weapons render the city 'uninhabitable', not unlike Chernobyl, where only animals have found refuge for so many years?? Don't know much about the lasting effects of chemical weapon use.

Isaiah 17 says it will be reduced to a pile of rubble and uninhabited. That suggests more than just chemical or radiolocigcal agents by themselves and conventional explosions would not be enough to turn the entire city to rubble. Major destruction is going to happen there at some point.

Re: Does the Bible Predict God’s End-Times Destruction of Syria — and Is Prophesy About to Unfold Before Our Eyes?
2009 iranian "election", the illuminati script that went wrong: the large majority of iranians voted for Moussavi, the real oppostion.
So illuminati were forced to of rig the 2009 election. Shortly after the opposition leaders as well as thousands of protesters were arrested and most were executed.
2013: obvioulsy this time the script has no room for real opposition.

Goals of the illuminati script "Iranian Elections: centrist moderate candidate wins"

Main goal is to put an end to the fake war illuminati (NATO) v Iran (puppet Ahmadinjad), to even more openly advance the illuminati agendas where the Iranian puppets play a key role:
- suppression of freedom fighters in Iran.
- defeat of freedom fighters in Syria, by no more trying to cover-up the iranian regime's military presence in Syria.
- complete the agenda "iranian nukes", part pf the "Destruction of Israel" agenda.

"Coincidentally" the first news as illuminati media celebrates the victory of the "centrist moderate candidate": "Iran to send 4,000 troops to fight alongside Syrian regime" (1).
This is the fourth stage of the "increase acceptance level" technique for the genocide in Syria, which is a test for the coming genocide in the US and the EU.

Genocide of freedom fighters - the FOUR stages
Reminder:
1. Air bombings of the population, reducing entire cities to rubble, while imposing an arms embargo on the freedom fighters. This is the basic ongoing genocide since mid 2011,.
2. Chemical weapons, since september 2012, officially by illuminati media since March 2013.
3. Foreign forces of neighbouring countries: lebanese Hezbollah, since 2012, officially by illuminati media since May 2013, with the illuminati media reports from Al-Qusayr.
4. Foreign forces of other countries: iranian, "coincidentally" the first news as illuminati media celebrates the victory of the "centrist moderate candidate".

Notes
(1) Iran to send 4,000 troops to fight alongside Syrian regime
[link to www.independent.co.uk]

BASIC CONCEPTS
All explained by Last Prophet's as it started, March 2011 - start here, Sept 2012
MAKE NO MISTAKE: Illuminati ordered Assad to go chemical and will occupy Syria as last resort. Agent Ahmadinejad can NOT fall
18 months of genocide in Syria, following the first massacres at the city of Deraa, the syrian christian bastion, where the revolution began, February 2011.

Sometimes i have to remember that the bible was not written by an american point of view. I am afraid it is american arrogance that has caused me to do that before. But if u reread through the eyes of an author that has never even heard of the USA, not to mention they have no understanding of what a plane or tank would even look like, then u have to realise that a lot of christians in the me are already living these times. Dascus has me on the edge of my seat though.
All morons hate it when you call them a moron.

People always think something's all true.

It's funny. All you have to do is say something nobody understands and they'll do practically anything you want them to.

there is an agenda, a blueprint that is being carried out and is NOT a fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy. Very sick of Bibletards parroting the idiocy that is spewed from the pulpits..they can quote Isaiah all day but can form an independent thought on what is going on...the Bible is mythology based on myths that came before it Sumerian, Kemetic, Zoroastrian...it is not and has never been a guidebook to the future. Read Finkelsteins Unearthing the Bible to see how most of the "fulfilled prophecies" ere written after the fact. You Fundamentalists are just more unwitting pawns of Zionism

A lot of assumptions there.

Plus, just as you don't believe christians who "parrot" the same old stuff, we have heard a million times every time a biblical prophecy comes true, that it is being played out by the evil zionists to look that way.

Doesn't jive though

While people are focusing on--and being distracted by--Damascus, and twiddling their thumbs until it is destroyed...

Meanwhile, the Prophecies in Chapter 11, verses 40-45 of the Book of Daniel are in the very process of being fulfilled and no one is paying any attention; the "king of the South" consisting of Zionist "Israel', the United States, NATO and their Sunni allies; and the "king of the North" consisting of Syria, Iran, Russia and their Shi'ite allies; the ultimate consequences of which confrontation are cryptically described in Chapter 12, verse 1 of the Book of Daniel.

The destruction of Damascus cannot occur until after the arrival of Michael.
