I think he felt he was being asked thee same question so he kept giving the same answer. She didn't ask him anything about the book. She didn't read the book, nor did any of the Fox writers. She kept saying things that other people said about the book. Don't even know if they read the book. Did anybody read the book?

What a terribly ugly and abrasive woman.

This guy is a great talker and has a great claim, the interviewer is terrible, she has no idea what on earth she is talking about. I felt sorry for this man, having to put up with real life trolls such as her on national tv. She hasn't even read the book, so why should she have the right to question him?

well, he said that the book had nothing to do with his faith. for instance, Islam believe Jesus was not crucified and in his book he mentions he did, while at the same time Islam believes in the virgin birth, and he was questioning the virgin birth of Christ in his book. so clearly, he kept telling the lady that his faith of Islam had nothing to do with his book on religion since he is a historian with a PHD. the whole video is about how she was being so ignorant with out being prepared to question him regarding a subject that matters.. she said that he never mentioned he was a muslim yet he said that on every tv program or on writing he has mentioned he was a muslim.

How many different ways does he have to say he wrote the book as a historian, not a Muslim. I thought it was pretty clear the first time he said it. Fox has their own agenda and it was pretty evident in this interview. They just hate everything Muslim. Respect to Mr. Reza Aslan (I'm a Christian).

The guy talked more about himself and his qualification than Jesus Himself - the subject of the interview. Folks with a back and forth religious affiliation are dangerous and unstable.

because of the interviewer. she was the one who kept asking about him and his faith, and not about the book. he kept trying to talk about the book....but you know what? this video made him extremely popular. the reason this video got viral is due to the amount of stupidity and ignorance the interviewer was showing

For balance, people might want to consider the three-volume series by N.T. Wright on Christian origins. Wright is a well-respected N.T. scholar/historian and is Christian.

thanks. i'll make sure to read about N.T Wright's books ... did he only write about Christianity or did he also write about other religions as well such as Hinduism?

You may be thinking of Huston Smith, who was written (well, in my opinion) on all the major religions of the world.

Wright's scholarly/academic works are well done but slow reading. They are:

The New Testament People of God
Jesus and the Victory of God
The Resurrection of the Son of God

About 800 pages each.

A 4-volume set on the Apostle Paul is due out soon.

Using that logic, perhaps we all are qualified then to spin a yarn about how the prophet Mohamad was no prophet at all and was visited by LUCIFER, as the angel never said he was Gabriel- it was his wife that made Mohamad believe that. - Point is the guy has a motive, like all muslims and satanist, they present just enough truth and then throw in some misinformation to try and dilute the true Word of God. What is it this time- Jesus had triplets, was divorced and worked a night job at a brothel?

if you actually watched the video, it gets worse toward the end. Perhaps she was trying to salvage and justify this disaster, but for whatever reason, at 7:52 she moved from merely embarrassing herself to something closer to outright journalistic malfeasance.
If Fox did actual journalism, her job would now likely be in jeopardy. Therefore, I expect that this fiasco has put her in line for a promotion.

uh no...your logic is flawed/ this man is an actual historian. he wouldn't put a mystic character in his stories about Jesus. his book is about the life and time of Jesus. done ... end of story....he actually has said Islam was wrong about Jesus not being crucified ... so there is no reason for you to think that he used his faith to somehow bash Jesus, read his book then judge.
