dating a coworker...does it sometimes work out?
Ok, so, I have known and intermittently worked with this guy coworker for the last 5 years. Remembering feeling a spark. Fast forward 5 years later, we run into each other. Start talking. Numbers exchanged. We hang out after work. He mentions that when he met me, sparks flew. I felt the same, but don't say it outloud. Long phone conversations about everything. He is just a year older than me.

We went out a couple of times, a restaurant and a small concert, but I'm declining all the recent invitations because I'm scared. Also, I have a reputation of being kinda shy and weird at work, and I don't want to hurt his reputation.

What to do? Do these things ever work out? Would hate for their to be drama.

We have not been affectionate.

Just go for it, who cares what anyone else thinks. Do what feels right. luv

Like you said, you both seem to be into each other, so why not give it a chance at least? Don't be worried about it failing and being awkward at work, it will only be if you let it be.

According to the doomologists, most of us will be dead by 2014. So, enjoy these last few months while you can.

one reason he's considered weird, is that your supposed to outgrow an obsession with sports. in your 30's, baseball isn't supposed to fuel your fury...it seems immature

well the problem is, I had a crush on another coworker before him, and people found out about it. so if this info gets to this guy, he might not take me seriously.

I don't know.

With this current guy though, its reciprocal. Things were not reciprocal with the first one.

Cool. I know it does work out. There are even couples that got married within my job. They seem very private.

If you're in your early 30's there's an above 50% chance that 1 or both of you will switch jobs at some point within the next 2 - 4 years.

If it's not against company policy, and you think he's worth dating, then go for it.

Also, be sure to pay attention to the balls. A good ball handler can go pretty far in life.

Re: dating a coworker...does it sometimes work out?
Oh stop with your shyness routine BS. Get on with it kid. You are not getting any younger and your value is dropping fast as a female. That is the hard core facts of the matter.

Unless you want to remain single for life, keep and up and you will have your wish. And when you finally realize your error you will end up with left over men that you end up mothering and supporting his kids from his past relationships.

Oh and yes, dating co workings usually works out. Most people meet each other at work or through similar hobbies. So don't worry about it.

Don't worry about that. It is expected at some point that you would have a romantic interest in others. Unless you are sleeping around, which is sounds like you were not, no problem.

You only live once OP! Go for it! If it works out, it works out. If not, then move on. You won't know unless you try.

My hubby and I met at work, dated for a couple of years and have now been married going on 28 years this New Years Eve.

If she is a long term prospect go for it. If she is a slutty landwhale and you are not that into her you will LOSE YOUR JOB. She will make sure of it.
