Breaking: Senate Vote Passes

Harry Reid will vet to make an amendment to the bill. He will remove the language that states obamacare ia to be defunded and it will only need 51 votes. There are 53 democrats so basically Passing tthis bill is passing to fund obama care

At that point is goes back to congress to be voted on again…correct?

It means they are voting for cloture, which means, they are going to fund Obamacare. Reid can now strip the defund part out, only need 51 votes to send that new bill to the House. In this particular vote, Senators who wanted to defund Obamacare should have voted NO.

This is the problem before us... Cloture means the measure can pass with 51 Aye votes, it will not require 60 Ayes as it should.

Now the question is, how will Harry Reid amend the bill before he calls the final vote? This is the fight which is brewing... and which Cruz was trying to prevent.

NO. Voting for cloture in that vote, allows Reid to strip the defund part out, which he will do,, then vote on just the CR to fund the government, which the Democrats will do and be able to pass with only 51 votes instead of the 60 they would have needed if the vote went the other way. So, the Dems won this one because of spineless Republicans and traitor Dems. So now a new bill without the defund Obamacare language goes to the house for the House to vote on. House needs to put the language back in and send to Senate. Only thing, time is running out and government will have to shut down if they do this. I say, shut it down.

Not exactly. It will go back to the House for reconciliation which happens by committee not a full floor vote. This is how they got the unconstitutional monstrosity through in the first place. The Senate took an unrealted bill the House had already passed, threw everything out of it to create a shell of a bill that was already approved and sent it back for Nancy Pelosi to rubber stamp. The saving grace this time is that Boehner is not nearly as bad as Pelosi and may bat it right back with a demand to delay Obamacare like a tennis ball for the Senate to reconcider.
