They haven't started to vote yet.

what does it mean? they're gonna defund it or not? they confuse me sometimes with the way they word shit.

They are calling the Ayes and Nays now.

Over 60 Ayes, only 2 or 3 Nays, so far...

If the bill passes then Harry Reid gets to make 1 amendment to the bill, which will be to remove the "defund obamacare" part of the passed bill. So basically a yes vote cor this bill is also a yes vote for Obamacare

Impossible. Amendments are BEFORE the vote on the bill.

Or this might just be a vote to put the bill forward... which would mean amendments votes THEN votes on the final bill.

This is what Cruz was trying to stop. Voting Yes here seals the deal for the democrats to fund Obamacare. The catch was Reid gets to make the amendment after the bill passes and no one can debate or object to it.

This is simply a vote for a continuing resolution (I believe). They still have the ability to deliberate and amend the bill, and attempt to re-insert funding for ACA. The big vote is Saturday I think, because the Dems know that they may not have the 60 votes necessary to pass an amended bill (inclusive of Obamacare funding), so they will attempt cloture - which gives them the ability to amend with only 51 votes (I think)...

They are voting for cloture, not approval of whatever Harry Reid pulls out of his ass.

You need 60 yeas to move to next round. Not good if this happens because Reid will simply remove defund Obamacare from the bill and you only need 51 votes to pass it.

But essentially thats what this is. Reid and rhe democrats have checkmated the GOP.

Gotcha...so, the cloture vote was today, and they now only need 51 votes to pass an amended bill, correct?

"Your government bennies will be cut off if the government shits down." is their claim - Chickie Schummer has already claimed this in his comments... now Harry Peter Reid, is beating the "Government Shutdown will be disastrous" drum...

Yes, that's right. It will then go back to the House for reconciliation. The House may then refuse to accept it and send back a demand for delay of Obamacare so this isn't over yet.

The really good thing is that this is getting high profile exposure and stiring up a lot of pissed off Americans.

Obamacare is a done deal. A government shutdown can't even stop it.
85% of Obamacare's funding comes from mandatory spending that would NOT be affected by a shutdown.

No. The Republican majority in the House has passed a regular buget every single year. Harry Reid (democrat) in the Senate has refused to even alow them to come up for a vote. So, the government has been run on continuing resolutions. The house passed a continuing resoloution. The Senate just doesn't want Obamacare defunded so they are going to strip that out.

Again, the Republican House has voted to fund government. It's the Democrat Senate that is refusing to allow that to pass.
