Gunmen abducted six Red Cross aid workers and a local volunteer of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent in northwest Syria on Sunday, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said.

The humanitarian agency had no contact with the unidentified gunmen, ICRC spokesman Ewan Watson said, declining to reveal the identity, nationalities or gender of the six ICRC staff for now.

"We call for the immediate and unconditional release of the seven colleagues abducted this morning," Magne Barth, head of the ICRC's delegation in Syria, said in a statement. The team had gone to Idlib on Thursday to assess the medical situation in the province and to deliver medical supplies to Sarmin and Idlib city, it said. [link to www.dnaindia.com]

Multiple bomb blasts have rocked the Syrian capital of Damascus, a mortar attack on Syrian TV among them, reports RT’s correspondent at the scene.

Mortar bombs have been launched at the headquarters of Syrian TV, RT’s Paula Slier said on her Twitter adding and that a car bomb also exploded on a highway adjacent to the TV buildings.

Rebels have posted video footage on the internet saying that they will target Syrian television.

Slier also reports that the Four Seasons Hotel where the foreign chemical weapons experts are staying has been targeted.

The other blast targeted the Four Seasons Hotel, where the foreign chemical weapons experts are staying, said RT correspondent Paula Slier on her Twitter account.

Slier added that the rebels have published a video on internet saying they will target the Syrian TV building.

There is no information yet on the number of casualties.

BEIRUT (AP) — Syria's official news agency says two bombs have exploded near the state television building in central Damascus.

The SANA news agency says state TV's headquarters in Umayyad Square was damaged in the blast, but there was no immediate word on casualties.

The news agency says initial information indicated that the explosions Sunday evening were the result of a double car bombing.

Might be, but not sure how many people were killed yet.

I know at some point the chem inspectors will be attacked and it will be blamed on Assad.. Just not sure if this is it or not.

I highly doubt we'll go in if inspecters are killed. But if we do,say hello to martial law without a doubt because the protests will be rampant with the default around the corner and going to war. I doubt it would happen though. At least not yet.
