And for those who affects it: Don't forget to set the alarm at 2 am to put the clock forward tonight. In Holland we still got three more weeks before we have to do that, but I always hate getting up in the middle of the night for that. Why can't they just do that in the morning or evening when everyone is awake anyway. I am convinced someone who suffers from insomnia made that rule of doing it at 2 am. Freaking Time Terrorist.. Anyway.. Much love to all. Stay safe and healthy. *vaporizes* LOL ! Now that's anal........like those bags with the tiny scissors that say "cut across this line". D'oh........ Or the frozen dinners that say "remove dinner from box". I usually set the clock a couple days before, so I'm ahead of the game; still get disoriented, worse in the autumn change. EVERYONE ! HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND, HOPEFULLY WITH NICE SPRING WEATHER... Interesting, I'm the opposite. The 'spring forward' messes with me way more than the 'fall back', although I feel them both. When I was younger neither of them bothered me. Then one year probably in my later 30s the spring time change hit me like a ton of bricks. As a teenager I always remembered my mom bitching about how the time change messed her up each year for a good few weeks, particularly the spring change. I always blew it off as nonsense, but then that one year all the sudden I knew exactly what she was talking about my entire life. One of those many moments when you connect w/your elders and realize you're slowly becoming them, lol LOL! Made me laugh! I hate the time change - both of them!!! If I changed a few days ahead, I'd REALLY be messed up, Arnie! My family thinks I'm bonkers, any way! And, Yes, Kickin, I've truly become my mother!!! Bad enough that all my sibs officially promoted me to matriarch after mom passed, but I wasn't planning to start acting like her!!! lol (In all seriousness, I'm proud of most of the things I do like my mom. There's a few things that I'd rather not, but over-all she was a pretty smart lady!) And IM - hang in there! That job will present itself! And let us know how you do with YOUR time change...I just set my clocks to the new time right before I go to bed. Still messes up my system, but at least I don't have to get up in the middle of the night! Love you guys.... TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |

It didn't bother me when I was younger but now I'm in a bad mood for a few days with the change as I miss the sleep. I am so glad when I get my fall back and I can catch up on sleep it's almost euphoric. In the grand scheme of things, it feels like hours turn to half hours when you spring forward as far as sleep is concerned. |

I've turned the clocks forward before I go to sleep and have never had to get up at 2:00 a.m. I thought everyone did it this way. This is the first time change I've seen everyone complaining about getting up at 2:00 a.m. to change the clocks!! You mean to tell me people don't change the clocks before they go to sleep? |

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND, HOPEFULLY WITH NICE SPRING WEATHER... Are you making fun of me Arnie? Or do you mean that we can also set the clock forward earlier than 2 am, so that I don't have to get up? Isn't that cheating?? On the other hand, who on earth will check? Huh, whaddayaknow.. I should have had that knowledge 40 years ago. I can't even count the years that I stayed up till 2 am in Spring or 3 am in Fall, thinking: "Finally!" Heh, son of a nutcracker! Thank you so much for your wisdom my dear. I love you! I wouldn't make fun of anyone who is anal-retentive; after all, I do wash dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. But nothing like a couple girlfriends; super perfectionists. I like to f*k with their heads by messing up their silverware drawer when I'm over there. And one of them, every time she visits, she straightens out my hall rug, which isn't exactly aligned with the grain of the wood floor. I can also greatly disturb them by showing them my silverware drawer, or opening the cupboard where the Tupperware is and having it all crash down on my head. You can set the clock any time you want,,,just don't tell anyone what time you do it. Life as an anal-retentive just is not healthy..... You can save the energy for manifesting your other personality disorders... TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |

I needed to look it up for an upcoming gathering, so I thought I'd share in case any of you are cabbage/slaw fanatics like myself. For what it's worth, I subbed honey for the maple syrup (it's what I had). Also went a bit lighter on the oil (closer to 1/4c) and used 1 bag of pre-shredded coleslaw (w/the red cabbage and carrot mixed in). Although the amount of cabbage in the bag was not the 10c called for in the recipe, I made the dressing as it states and kept a bit on reserve for those who wanted to add xtra. It fed a lot, I can't imagine using 10c of cabbage. I've only made this once, but every single person loved it. Quoting: KickinIt [link to www.thekitchn.com (secure)] Thanks!
