I couldn't agree more. It is sad to see how dependent and addicted current generations, countries and industries are on internet technology, social media etc. The balance has shifted from leading to being submissive. Like we have become the robots instead of the other way around.

It makes you wonder what kind of chaos we can expect if and when a reset of society in that respect will happen. For many it will mean we are being thrown back to the Stone Ages.

It is not for no reason that so many people, even the younger generations, long back to that time before the internet, whether that be the 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s, in so many aspects of life. I remember how we went fishing all day, without a worry on our minds. And like you said, you would hear from your parents if someone called.

Nowadays people are already upset that you for example didn't respond to them on the spot on WhatsApp, because they saw you read it, because there were two blue check marks. So they unfriend you on Facebook, Instagram and make a dissing video on TikTok about it. What a world..

I remember our first "computer" calculator at work in the 80s. One cost thousands of dollars and we had to x share it with six departments. And then in the early 90s there was this guy who came to sell the workers their first personal computer for home for like $5,000. He had a funny Dutch American accent, like in commercials, which was marketing tool back then over here. And it worked. Everyone wanted one in exchange for vacation hours and with the financial help of the company.

Downloading one song from Napster, if you were lucky to get your connection in there with all the connections of other people at the same time, took eight minutes and people were swearing that your phone line was busy all the time.

Now I have a 400 MB download and 40 MB upload connection and you download a 10 GB movie in less than a minute. Which has no use anymore either, since everything is available on streaming services.

How the world has changed. And in many aspects not for the better. Even though I am blessed to have met beautiful souls through it as well and be able to contribute some and encourage and motivate others on a personal level. That part makes it at least a good thing.

Some say the world is evolving. I rather say we are devolving. Whatever you want to call it, the balance has definitely shifted to a point where it will be tough to get back to our own natural core.
