Obama refused state funeral for 1st man on the moon Neil Armstrong

When Neil Armstrong died August 25, 2012 many assumed it
was a forgone conclusion that Neil Armstrong would be given a state funeral but the Obama administration was rumored to be worried it would draw attention to the fact that Obama had destroyed the US manned space program and that we can no longer put a man in space. The liberal media downplayed Armstrong's death instead covering the upcoming DNC convention and Obama refused the (mostly Republican) calls to grant Neil Armstrong a state funeral.

A state funeral typically involves pallbearers from 5 branches of the US armed forces, a series of artillery salutes, a jet fly-past, and a number of bands and choirs.

The flag-draped coffin is taken in a horse-drawn gun-carriage and placed in the Capital Rotunda for public viewing, and a service is held at the National Cathedral in the Bethlehem Chapel. (The National Cathedral, by the way, has a moon rock inserted in one of the stained glass windows.)
