Cushing OK is a major intersection for gas and oil pipelines, as well as having a heckuva lot of storage tanks

This map gives some idea of pipeline junctures at Cushing.

Native Oklahoman here, lived in central OK all my life.

All these earthquakes of the past decade are a new thing.

My contention is that the whole SE 1/4 of the US -- ie a triangle headed up at Cape Girardeau MO including all of the lower Mississippi delta alluvial land -- is steadily sliding, subsiding towards and into the Gulf.

Our central OK faults are pretty much the dividing line between alluvial coastal plain, and 'firmer' lands to the N and W. Yes, I know OK is far from "coastal" in the common sense, but far SE OK is alluvial coastal "built up" land.

And for what it's worth I am mixed blood Shawnee.

The Shawnee Prophet Tenskwatawa accurately predicted the 1811 New Madrid -- this is documented in white men's writings from before the quake as well as tradition.

The NM will refresh itself whenver its good and ready. And it is long overdue. I do not want to venture a prediction when. That might be a bad idea.
