It was too cold in Chicago this winter for gang members to go out and do their thing.

If the numbers had gone up you would say it was the cold weather that drove them to it. Is talking out of your ass fun for you?

This is actually a true statement. I work for a hospital in detroit, and we observe the same trend. We're actually thinking this might be a bad summer, because of the harsh winter... We'll see though.

Not against the conceal carry law but the statistics you provide show that the big change occurred during the first quarter of 2013 when then were 49 fewer murders than 2012. This was a year prior to the conceal carry law.

1st quarter 2010; 75 murders
1st quarter 2011: 75 murders
1st quarter 2012: 120 murders
1st quarter 2013: 71 murders (41% decrease from prior year!)
1st quarter 2014: 65 murders (9% decrease from prior year)

Also based on the limited sample size 2012 appears to be an anomaly.

I live in Chicago and I dont know about these numbers/ Maybe in the suburbs but in the city ...people get shot everyday. SO i dont believe this article at all.

Chicongo media DOES NOT tell the truth, where do you get your info from? 95% of crime in Chicongo is negro but you never even get perp descriptions in the media.

You could argue the exact opposite, claiming the added stresses associated with extreme cold, ice and snow would lead to more aggravation and aggression, sending the murder rate up, especially among those confined to close quarters.

Well alright then.....

I think the point is that the drive to disarm the people will never stop until there is a necktie party for those that deserve it and anyone that publicly supports the "underlying" goals.
