I like the way you think, yes! All animals have a predatory side..well..at least mammals..and thats what im getting at..if you hate cats..maybe its because YOU are a predator and you feel threatened.

Hhmm... My cat has killed ZERO animals in her lifetime. Why? Because she's kept indoors, where she belongs. She won't even kill BUGS, only plays with/chases them.

My BF's dogs, on the other hand, have killed/maimed several stray cats.

I'm with you, OP. I don't trust anyone who doesn't like cats (or animals in general). There isn't enough money in the world to pay me to date a man who hates cats.

Yes! Plus, as someone mentioned, the fact that the guy has to tell you this on the first date. What's that about? He's maybe a little too into his own wonderfulness? It didn't occur to him that "hate" might not be a great topic for first dates. Ha ha!

The thing is..cats dont kill horrifically like dogs, they kill in ONE bite..quickly and silently..and YES..there is a difference between cat haters and dog haters..dogs are co-dependent, they are vicious when they kill..cats are stealthy and not dependent on you..of course they love to be loved and fed..but they CAN survive on their own..does anyone see what Im getting at?

An old girlfriend of mine once lived with her mom and 2 sisters and they had 5 cats that never went outside at all. They acted afraid of the open door. They had lots of personality, but they pooped in the house always.
They get up on counters and lick the butter.

My boyfriend thought he hated cats before we moved in together, and I got kittens. He loves cats now. He even said that if we ever broke up, he wants to keep them (I would totally keep them!) Sometimes people think they hate cats because they never had a cat, and their parents hate cats, and the only cats they ever met were asshole cats (my bf). Then they live with kitties, and the kitties melt their hearts.
But I don't think you should date that guy. The only info you shared about him is that he is rich and hates cats. You mentioned that he was rich more than once. It sounds shallow. No mention of his looks or character, just his money. If that's the only good thing you can say about him after going out with him, you should keep looking.

Yes..the only info I gave about him was what I saw on our first date..he took me out to eat sushi...took me to his house and his house is like, well the ultimate bachelor pad..with a stereo and tv that is like being at a live concert..and i wasnt impressed because he was aloof..almost like..void of expression..i think thats what money does to you. Its almost like he wanted me to praise him..I dunno..I guess im just not used to dating, maybe Im out of touch with people, period.

Just get a few more cats and you can be a "crazy cat lady".

Don't see this guy again, he is a narcissist. you'll be sorry if you ignore the signs now....and actually I would advise you to do some research into narcissist traits, so you will be ready in the future when you run into them..they are everywhere...and you want to run like hell...

I honestly think cat hating is part of it...I wish I would have listened when my guy said that he hated cats...he has warmed up to mine, and I accuse him of actually liking her, but I think it is a sign of a bigger problem.

A real good indication of how a guy will treat you in the long run...how does he treat his mother and other women in his life? Daughters, etc....

If you have survived this long in life without a man, just keep going. You would probably be better off going it alone, as a strong independent woman...tell you dad sorry, you can't take this situation lightly.

Please study narcissism, I wish I knew more about it back when I was dating, I had no idea...
