Anonymous Coward User ID: 56177564 United States 05/07/2014 01:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pearlie Golden, 93, died Tuesday night in St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan after a male Hearne police officer shot her at least five times, according to multiple witnesses. Quoting: PlanBSurvival Golden was known in her Karney Street neighborhood as Ms. Sully. Hearne police are not ready to say whether Golden was armed or why the officer felt threatened. "All I know is that they were called out here,” said Robertson County District Attorney Coty Siegert. [link to www.kwtx.com] This is vile, it truly is gut wrenching. I cant wait for the official BS story... |

Sometimes, those people suffering from such a disorder can become violent and do harm or even kill. This may not be the case, but it has been known to happen and we should wait until we have the facts before trashing the cops. Quoting: MartyWrites I wondered that too, but at 93 how much of a “threat” could she have really posed? What irony to live through 93 years in this world and then go out like that. |

These 90-something year olds are using up all the benefits. Time to take them out so that the baby boomers can get theirs now. Even if she became violent, a 93 year old woman is simply no match for 2 young men, they could have easily restrained her until paramedics who are trained to handle this type situation arived. Now, if she had a gun AND was activly shooting at them, well, maybe, but shooting her 5 times? WTF? |

I tend to agree with you, but there are cases in which some have been violent, and not all elderly are in poor physical condition. If she was victim of what is known as 'sundowning', she may well have been extremely agitated and possibly violent, maybe to the point that she kept shooting, even when shot. If she was suffering from this, she was certainly not the woman most people had known and loved. This evil ailment changes people, and not in a good, or necessarily benign fashion. I do not know what actually happened or if the cops were right or wrong in their actions. Either way, it's sad and disturbing. |

Something tells me this guy used to be a Marine that forgot he was a cop. She probably threatened him with taking his badge if he didn't address the hooligans selling dope in her neighborhood. |

Quoting: PlanBSurvival IF she did garnish a weapon, I doubt she could even see the cop well, seems it would be pretty easy to disarm a 90+ year old lady. Just sayin. Garnish a weapon? As in putting a sprig of parsley on it? I am guessing you meant BRANDISH. ???? Sorry, PlanB, but I'm seeing so much of this all over the net, especially in threads, that it's scaring me. Maybe most people are not native English speakers....yeah, maybe that explains it.... It's getting so that I have to GUESS what people mean, because they can't write it. This is a very sad story, and I don't want to hijack this thread. Bumping for more info. |
