User ID: 54268114 United States 05/11/2014 07:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The real issue here isn't the voter ID per se. The real issue is that our 'representatives' don't represent us anymore. The constitution mandates a 'republican' form of government, and its not talking about the republican party, its talking about our congressmen REPRESENTING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. Congress and Washington does what ever the hell it pleases and this has to stop no matter the party. |

If he really believes this nonsense he would just be another RINO. Ted Cruz / Trey Gowdy now are at the top of my list. Unfortunately, the others are now way down past about 30 blank names on my list of possible candidates. |

It's the only way to make sure each person only votes once. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56638710 Why wouldn't everyone have to prove who they were to vote? Because community organizers pay blacks to vote multiple times. Trying to prevent blacks from committing voting fraud is racist and deplorable. |

Quoting: WindyMind Maybe the Republicans should not make it so difficult for minorities to vote. It was so difficult to vote in North Philadelphia in 2012, they only turned out 107% of the vote. They been disenfranchentized! They are turning out and waiting in long lines to defy the Republicans. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 38907806 United States 05/11/2014 08:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Rand Paul sounds off on voter ID: Will it help the GOP with black voters? Quoting: Instant Karma Sen. Rand Paul says Republicans have "gone completely crazy" on voter identification. But he has his own history on race that makes African American voters skeptical of him and the GOP. Christian Science Monitor By Brad Knickerbocker May 10, 2014 5:36 PM Sen. Rand Paul says his party – the GOP – has “gone completely crazy” on voter identification, turning off African American and other voters the Republican Party needs to attract if it’s to become more than the political home of older whites. “Everybody’s gone completely crazy on this voter ID thing,” Sen. Paul said in an interview with the New York Times this week. “I think it’s wrong for Republicans to go too crazy on this issue because it’s offending people.” It’s yet another example of Paul’s outlier status as he probes the possibility of a 2016 presidential campaign. But it’s not the first time he’s raised the issue in a party he sees as too cramped and insular. [link to news.yahoo.com] Regardless of this story, Rand Paul is a joke. |

He's a supporter of Voter ID laws in general, he just thinks the current fury is pretty tone deaf. Plus he thinks it's a states rights issue anyway, so federal politicians shouldn't be going batshit about it anyway. If you are abandoning your support for him based on this one issue alone, you are missing the big picture. Last Edited by Zalinsky on 05/11/2014 09:15 PM |

As I approach her, she tries to guess my name. I could have answered "Yes" to any of them and voted, came back and voted five hours later, returned again three hours later and voted! Quoting: WindyMind Maybe the Republicans should not make it so difficult for minorities to vote. How do minorities sign up for and collect their dole money with no id? Or is the gov just handing out dole money to minorities willy nillly without them proving identify and income? If so that shit needs to change. No wonder there is so much fraud in the dole system. The no voter ID thing is really all about allowing illegal aliens from south of the US border to vote themselves more "free" shit. |

The commies are using neighborhoods you wouldn't drive through without a military escort as vote factories, sweetheart. But being a statist shill for the Father of Lies Party (which is both parties now), you probably already knew that. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 51527464 United States 05/11/2014 10:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am from Kentucky and I recently attended a meeting concerning public policy led by lawyers and lobbyists with state and local officials. I was appalled at what has recently been passed at the state level and even more appalled at how little the public knows about it. There is a push at the state level for an electoral college, therefore nullifying the vote of citizens just like at the federal level. Those in Washington, plan further ahead than we realize. Should laws like this pass, Rand Paul already knows that a citizens vote doesn't mean shit on every level. We are distracted. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 22600435 United States 05/11/2014 10:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes and no. I mean, I completely disagree with him here, but you know as well as I that he has no choice but to pander to minorities if he wants their votes. But we have proof pandering does NOT end after one is elected. One person has continued pandering for eight years in the WHITE HOUSE! |
