The guy was intoxicated and strung out according to multiple witnesses.

At one point, after standing for ten minutes at the electronics counter with no interest in being helped, he walked behind the counter when the employee stepped away, and he then tried to remove what may have been a cash box.

Management confronted him and asked him to leave. He behaved as if he would leave the store, then decided to take a detour into the hair or nail salon.

He definitely needed some work on his hair, not sure about his nails.

Basically, this guy seems to have problems, and was probably intoxicated. He resisted arrest out front, and re-entered store.

The officer who was filmed pummeling him is on admin leave. Just my opinion, the guy is bigger than the arresting officer. He stood a full head taller when they finally got him up to walk out. The officer who pummeled him didn't seem to be landing those punches with much oomph, so it looked more stupid than effective.

There needs to be more outpatient and long term treatment for mental illness in the U.S. and police officers have too much stress themselves trying to work these calls.

I would make a bet that he has a long history of assaulting the police in this area and not to mention how damn big he was when he stood up. However, pepper spray or a taser would have been the best things to use instead of punching him while the subject was resisting being handcuffed.

That officer may have been pulling some of his punches but there's a couple of the back of the man's cranium that are without a doubt life threatening.

An officer of the law should follow those laws and the spirit of those laws, other wise people will begin to question its relevance.

Why do the cops always yell out to the person they are beating on to stop fighting them? It's obvious by the video(s) the person is not fighting or resisting but being beat up or the cops are twisting their arms into crazy positions.
