Short of lots of field data, and complex Math, there is no way to determine the mortality rate from the official statistics...Not until the outbreak is OVER. I've seen a few posts about this, and a critical point seems to be consistently missed. Each day there are MORE new people infected, at an INCREASING rate of infection. A month ago, it was something like 40/day and now it's 70 or 100... If you have say 2800 infected and 1400 dead, you do not necessarily have a 50% mortality rate. 1400 people could die in the next week from the remaining 1400, since they could have just started showing signs... in that time, you will have another say 700 infected.... Until people stop getting infected, then you don't know how many people haven't died, that will within a week. |

Yes only those with high doses of Selenium will prevent the mutation of the virus. To block the P24 protein one needs curcumin or Tumeric. |

They had released her from the hospital and said she was recovered and she dropped dead. What if this strain has a remission period or something, where the recovered victims release and quickly die? How would that fair for the US if Brantly and Whitebol have the same thing happen after being released as cleared? |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36906128 And I don't mean crystals and voo-doo, Practical things. Are there any knowledgeable medical types or peppers with suggestions... Ibelieve the only viable precautions are the ones each individual or family can make because governments are not taking preventative actions such as closing borders, halting international travel and some international imports. It up to each person. Thoughts on the subject include storing up food, medicine and clorox maybe for water disinefection if the water supply becomes suspect. Once you have your stash set up and during the procurement be aware of your surroundings. Stay clear of anyone who looks sickand IF an outbreak occurs, be prepared to hunker downin your home for possibly multiple months. Jmo |

User ID: 32408217 United States 08/25/2014 08:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A study published in September 2012 found that Ebola-infected rhesus macaques survived when receiving MB-003 (mixture of 3 chimeric monoclonal antibodies) one hour after infection. When treated 24 or 48 hours after infection, four of six animals survived and had little to no viremia and few, if any, clinical symptoms.[8] [link to en.wikipedia.org] This means that the monkeys received ZMapp within 1 hour of being injected with Ebola. For people that would mean it would only work if you knew exactly when you were infected and then took ZMapp within the hour. 2 days after being infected, the survival rate goes way down. |
