Also, Loudon Inova refusing to test inmate with fever. This is scary as crap. I work at a large University in NC with a medical campus and we had someone present with symptoms this morning and had just been in africa. They went into full isolation/quarantine mode and locked down. We just got a negative result. But it scared the crap out of all of us. Quoting: Threelittlelambs I hope this ends up negative as well. someone please explain how negative results are coming in in a few hrs in NC and in CT we wait a hot 24 hrs. some many conflicting reports I'm getting the feeling this is one huge coverup of a huge clusterfuck thats about to become apparent to everyone-then cue the economic collapse |

HazMat crew is cleaning his house, that's good. Gabriella |

Anderson Cooper will come visit us ... oh my , the doomgasm is almost more then one can handle. on a serious note, my wife is at the UMC hospital right now, no updates from here as of yet.. anything goes down i will update as needed. ~from the Ebola Front lines |

I know no linky no stinky, but I work here and got the call that they locked down and then about 3 hours later a negative. Somebody somewhere is lying. |

Also, Loudon Inova refusing to test inmate with fever. Consider this; staph has been present in all of the hospitals in Lubbock for years. Surgery rooms are just moved to different areas of the hospital because it can't be stopped. How will the possible introduction of ebola into UMC affect the safety of all those who are patients and caregivers? |

Also, Loudon Inova refusing to test inmate with fever. What is so irritating about all of this, are all of the comments about how we're in Texas and we deserve this. I am not from Texas - I moved to Dallas for a job 2.5 years ago. After graduating in 2008, I couldn't find anything in my home town. I am a law abiding and tax paying citizen. I pay quite a large chunk of my paycheck to federal taxes, thank you very much. Probably a great deal more than a lot of white trash commenters on various news' sites do - since they don't seem to have jobs at all. So, if you want to blame Texas for this and say that we're on our own, please explain to me how the government or people of Texas could have prevented an infected Liberian from landing in Dallas? And please tell me how you can justify advocating that we all be left to die or that we somehow deserve this? Not sure if I think it's all real, but the reaction the rest of America is having is disgusting. I live in the area that all of this stuff is going down on in Dallas and don't really know what to think. I want to believe it's a hoax, but the reality might be even worse if that is the case. jaythomas |

A lot of it is the travel time to take the sample, transport the sample to an Ebola certified lab (closest one in DFW is a public lab in Austin). Then they typically wait for verification from a sample that was sent to the CDC in Atlanta. In every operation, whether planning it or executing it, you can never count on luck; but you have to accept it, and recognize it when it’s there. -Major ******, U-2 Pilot/Instructor/Flight Commander |
