I work for a fairly large Hospital System in Michigan. We just received an email today requesting volunteers for a specialty task force to be deployed at any of our sites to combat Ebola.

They are requesting "Physically Fit" Nurses, Doctors, and any people with military and or disaster relief expertise.

Guess its getting real.

Actually, I was debating on volunteering for it. I'm torn. On one end it would be nice to get the training and be in the know. On the other hand, getting Ebola would suck.

I doubt you'd really be "in the know" ... CDC doesn't even seem to realize exactly what we're dealing with....

I didn't mean from a national standpoint, I meant locally.

Well, already work in a healthcare environment, so that is unavoidable. I rather know its here and be prepped for it, than have it be here and be completely clueless.

Can you tell us which hospital chain or at least the area they serve?

No, but it is likely that all of them are sending out this type of communication - most likely in every state.

They need to nail down immediate training, containment programs, and even policies on how to handle staff that threaten to walk off. I'm guessing the latter is why they are asking for volunteers for this team.

I'm actually torn on whether I'll volunteer or not.

Do you have a significant other & kids that live with you or you are responsible for? Take at least 24 hrs to think it over before you decide. This is a momumental decision & could have life or death sentence attached to it for you & yours.

I think the elites should be training & sending in their youth to volunteer for this deadly task, since they probably have been vaccinated & protected anyway. Plus their Daddies & Mommies are all part of bringing this virus to our shores.
