HELP FIND MATTY! Soldier's hero dog stolen by the military! **FIXED WITH LINKS ADDED**
This story broke this week in the NY Post, on Fox News and on Michael Savage, who is paying a lawyer to find this soldier's dog. Here's some info from the NY Post article (less than 50%). PLEASE, if you have any info contact this soldier's family!

"On July 20, 2013, Spc. Brent Grommet returned from Afghanistan with his military working dog, a Czech German shepherd named Matty. The two had gone through basic training together, deployed together and were injured together when a roadside IED detonated.

Grommet slept on top of Matty’s crate as they flew back to the United States. Upon landing at an Air Force base in New Jersey, the two were separated — standard operating procedure.

Grommet wasn’t worried, though: According to Army regulations, if he wanted Matty, he had the sole right to adopt his military working dog. This right is colloquially known as Robby’s Law, and was signed by President Clinton in 2000.

Grommet had already filled out the adoption paperwork in the Middle East and handed it over to K2 Solutions, the private firm that then contracted with the Army on canine issues — and who took Matty for an examination.

But Brent Grommet never saw Matty again. He says a Lt. Col. Richard Vargas absconded with Matty, and the military has done nothing to make it right."

This Vargas character is a real ass and now has a cushy job at the Pentagon. Grommet was threatened by the military to not speak out any longer or he would be sent to Leavenworth!! It's all in the article. Please spread the word on social media!

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified."

Duh--I'm so sorry! Not enough coffee yet. Corrected in the OP above! Thank you.

Gotta go to work--please, guys, I know this isn't about Ebola or illegal alien amnesty, but we really need to get this soldier's dog back to him. This is super shady and it's something we can all help get done. We can't do a damn thing about Ebola or amnesty, however.

Matty's service number ear tattoo is VO53. It's shown in this local ABC affiliate's video about the matter back on July 25, 2014. The tattoo is shown at the 1:54 mark.

I don't even know where to begin. Having worked with war-dogs and working-dogs, they are partners, no pets. You NEVER get to keep "your" dog. They even teach you to get a pet at school at Lackland.

They didn't go to basic together either. He had to go become an MP and then get his handler specialization way later. I guarantee you he shoveled shit in the kennels for a year before he even got to pick up a leash.

This whole story is weird and not right. All branches go here to learn about dogs... [link to www.37trw.af.mil] ALL branches.

Ever hear of Robby's Law? [link to save-a-vet.org] Goggle it too, just "Robby's Law" will work.

Here is the website to actually adopt MWDs (not WMDs)...

This whole story stinks to high heaven. The LTC in question didn't abscond with the dog, he was more than the guys Company Commander and he's crying cause he doesn't get "HIS" dog.
