(OP) 02/02/2015 11:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most pro athletes are nothing but old kids. They are given a pass at everything "adult", like grades, accountability and responsibility. They play the same game they played when they were ten. It's no wonder they throw tantrums and are completely juvenile at controlling their emotions. The bad part is that so many actual children idolize them, fueled by parents living their own failed dreams vicariously through pro athletes. Your last sentence is 100% spot on. :TOMABANEFOX: It's more humane this way ya know, or burn on totem pole. Choice is yours. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27550552 That's true...and part of the reason that the NFL bans fighting. Way too dangerous for men of that size and strength to have a 'free for all' street fight...Who the f*ck could even break it up? Hockey fighting isn't street fighting...and the players aren't nearly as big and jacked up on roids as the average NFLer... |

You need to do some research and compare height and weight categories of an NFL roster to an NHL roster. You wouldn't have posted the above if you had done it. Hockey players are larger than your average guy...NFL players are much much larger than your average NHLer. I'm not debating which of the sports is "tougher"...but 260 lb guys in sneakers and cleats brawling on a 100 yard field is far more dangerous than 11 190-220 pound guys fighting on ice skates in a much smaller and contained area... |
