i remember maybe about a year ago there was that other series of similar sightings and discoveries of these dog-like 'chupacabras' that people were reporting.

seemed to be from farther down south and the ones found or shot dead there looked very similar in body structure to that above photo.

difference being that the previous ones displayed more overt signs of mange but they and the above look very much like african hyenas even in stature to my eyes.

that snout and overall profile of the above looks too similar to ignore. maybe the above one is a juvenile one that has yet to turn mangy and hairless.

i also distinctly remember people making observations of that particular rotting odour of the animals too. but then again all large mammals do have very unpleasant odours.

i'm sure people who know bear country can relate.
