US think-tank defiant after Iran threatens action by ‘security apparatuses’

Iran openly threatened an American think-tank and its CEO on Saturday, asserting that actions by the Islamic Republic’s “security apparatuses” against the organization would be considered “legitimate.”

According to semi-official state news agency Mehr, the Iranian foreign ministry blamed the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) and its CEO Mark Dubowitz for practicing “economic terrorism” against Iran through “spreading lies, lobbyism” and “propaganda.”

State Department Spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said of the threat, “The outlaw regime in Iran issued a threat today against @FDD, an American think tank, and its CEO. The U.S. takes the regime’s threats seriously. We intend to hold Iran responsible for directly or indirectly compromising the safety of any American.”

PA refuses to condemn murder of 17-year-old Israeli hiker

The Palestinian Authority (PA) has failed to condemn the murder of 17-year-old Israeli Rina Shnerb on Friday, says Palestinian Media Watch (PMW). She died of critical wounds sustained in the bomb attack while on a hike in Samaria with her father and brother, who were wounded.

“Despite numerous checks, and notwithstanding the fact that the PA media has referred to the attack on multiple occasions, Palestinian Media Watch could find no statement whatsoever of any PA official condemning the attack. Rather the PA media chose to falsely claim that Rina was a ‘soldier’ and a ‘settler,'” said the watchdog, an Israeli research institute.

Hamas denies responsibility for Sunday night’s rocket attack on Sderot

Hamas spokesman Hassam Qassem said the terror organization that rules the Gaza Strip didn’t fire the three rockets on the Israeli town of Sderot on Sunday night. He blamed the Israel media for “pointing the finger at the Gaza Strip in order to justify the IDF attacks on the Strip.”
