Sounds like the car is the most recent in a string of a lot of things. I may post more in the morning but wanted to get some stuff typed out tonight.

HOUSING: see if you can find some site based section 8. They often advertize on Craigslist but you maybe can find them though the local Section 8 people.

You CAN get heat and power asssistance. I don't know what it's called in NJ but the food stamp office should be able to direct you ALSO THE POWER COMPANY SHOULD HAVE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE YOU CAN CALL.

Catholic churches sometimes help people.

GLEANERS. Food Stamp people may know where those are too. Essentially for putting some work in you get free food (search it for more info)

There are community action groups that should be in your area. Try 211 or asking the food stamp people. There are also people who give one time help of several hundred dollars in some communities and you find those thru the community action places.

LOVE INC. Find the local branch. They don't usually give money I don't think but maybe could help with other things. Maybe someone would even donate a car. You put in a request and it goes thru a "call chain" to all the volunteers...

Yeah I forgot sometimes utility companies will help put you on some interest free payment program. They can work with you. Please if you don't have food apply for food stamps and I also forgot about the foodbanks. But you can only go to food banks once a month I think.

I'm comming here because I don't know where to look. My family's 1995 geo tracker just died today. The transmission finaly died after acting up for over 2 years. We are well below the poverty level and struggle to make it day to day. We are currently waiting for the electric company to come turn off the power and are also in for-closure as well. What I am wondering is if any one knows of an organization that helps family in need in new jersey with cars. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks
