OK

It's more than just the prices, but they will certainly skyrocket You will have no idea of the origin, condition or content of your food.

Food sellers know people are 'prejudiced' against GMOs, shit from China, vietnam & a few other Asian countries, harmful additives, pesticides, germs & filth etc so THEY WILL NO LONGER BE REQUIRED TO INFORM YOU SINCE IT MIGHT HURT THEIR PROFITS.

Gutter Oil is soon coming to America and like GMO you will not know it.

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

Gutter oil (Chinese: 地沟油; pinyin: Dìgōu yóu)(Chinese: 餿水油; pinyin: sōushuí yóu) is a term used in China and Taiwan to describe illicit cooking oil which has been recycled from waste oil collected from sources such as restaurant fryers, sewer drains, grease traps and slaughterhouse waste.

People take a lot of notice where their food comes from.

New Zealand exports a large amount of food and this is well received because we take producing food seriously.

You will notice that countries who don',t will not sell much so, don't be too concerned.

Actually, i stopped buying food from NZ a few years ago when i Found out China uses NZ as backdoor route for getting their dodgy products into australia. some "Made in NZ" food actually originated in China.

Also, the multinational corporations who wrote this pile of shit treaty and will be making/enforcing the rules will not need to concern themselves with sanitation or pollution in regard to food.

Those things cost them money and it ain't gonna happen anymore. So what if some people get sick from eating spoiled or poisoned food? The big corporations will be untouchable.

BUT JUST YOU TRY TO BAD MOUTH THEM and see what happens to you. Any country, state or individual who says or does ANYTHING that in the opinion of a corporation, in any way harms their potential future profits will be drug in front of an international tribunal presided over by corporate lawyers. It will go downhill from there.

This draconian policy will extend to pharmaceuticals, electronics, vehicles--just about everything made by the multinationals. However, domestic corporations * small businesses will still have to abide by existing Osha, EPA, FDA etc. regulations..

Added bonuses for these bastards in the 'fuck you' treaty is that it facilitates a one world government--Agenda 21 (runs your whole life) and a major gun grab.

No one should import food, every country makes enough for its people. Buy local grown and support your local farmer and business.

Food costs will skyrocket because the dollar will take a shit. The Trans Pacific Partnership isn't the illness, it's the symptom. The illness is the death of the dollar as world currency.

Re: Guess what the Trans Pacific Partnership Trade agreement does to American food Prices?
You guys have been paying your farmers subsidies for years.

We used to do the same shit. This is why you can't compete in a global market place.

When subsides are removed farmers crash and burn because they were not running a proper business. This is also of course why the prices were cheap. Such things always come to an end.

For too long countries have cheated and subsided their own produce and taxed imports heavily. Thus refusing to allow others a crack at the market.

It is apparently Obama who wishes to end this.
.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69186044

Taxing imports is what made USA a prosperous country, for 100 years USA had almost no taxes on it's citizens but applied tariffs (taxes) on imports. This made foreign goods expensive so business built products in the USA thus creating jobs for US citizens. US went to shit when this model was reversed--high taxes on citizens, low tariffs, jobs moved to other countries. Globalist love it.

TPP is more globalist hell for US citizens.

This.

There is absolutely no reason to import food, period. Technology can recreate any and ALL environments conceivable which allows for the growth of any plants anywhere on the world, at ANY TIME.

You should not rely on a single summer harvest for sustenance, or worry about weather related crop failures. Technology should be used to absolutely guarantee local sustainability by producing year round harvests, of ANY variety, regardless of weather or geographical location.

The natural seasonal growth outside should be used to promote wildlife sustainability with very little emphasis placed upon human consumption. It's time we GAVE something back to the Earth and wildlife, we have taken enough.

Fuck me with a high enough ceiling and efficient LED grow lights I could pick fruit from a mango tree in my house in the middle of a Canadian winter running off solar power. The Technology exists people, the will is what is lacking.

Did you know that most fruit bearing plants can start producing a new batch of fruit once they are subjected to a certain number of "cold hours" (1 cold hour equals 1 hour at 7°C (45°F)).

So you grow and harvest a batch of blueberries then you subject your plant anywhere from 200-1000 hours at 7°C depending on variety. Assuming you can control and maintain 7°C you could potentially "restart" the summer season only 10 days after you harvest the blueberries; merely placing them under artificial lights at 16+ hours per day will "trigger" fruit to start growing.

Even if you needed to wait a full 30 days of cold hour accumulation that still at least triples the number of potential harvests per year, and each harvest gets bigger.

With LED lights energy usage goes down and they supply at least 5 years of optimal growth while offering a quick cheap fix when the diodes burn out. LED grow lighting is now cheaper than HID while being more efficient, effective, practical and longer lasting.

America's food Prices will quadruple overnight!

Beef, Poultry, Dairy, grains, fruits, all quadruple instantly!

What this Pacific trade agreement does is open up 79 new markets to americas growers and guess what? about 80% of those countries the government supplements food prices!

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50326435

Could you clarify please? How exactly would opening up trade make our food cost go up?

Also, are you a congressional page?
