You are the way. You alone, no one else. You are your own way. People like Jesus and Buddha and Krishna (and dozens of modern-day self-realized people) simply point the way for you. They are not the way, in and of themselves, because they exist only in your mind. As for the Bible, I can recognize many accounts of very inspired, very enlightened reports of what the Truth is like for many of those incarnated in the world, but the words themselves are not the Truth. Jesus was an enlightened man, a man whose story almost directly parallels the process of enlightenment, which makes his story very special as a metaphor, but does not make the man, himself, any more special than you, or than a homeless guy, or than a grain of sand. |
