Quoting: [link to news.yahoo.com] Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, 87, is protected by one of the world's strictest royal defamation rules under which anyone convicted of insulting the king, queen, heir or regent faces up to 15 years in prison on each count. On Friday Bangkok's Military Court found Pongsak Sriboonpeng, 48, guilty of posting messages and pictures defaming the monarchy in six posts on the social networking website. There's a reason why they call it "draconian law". :4hlick: |

Some friends just returned from teaching English there for a year, and say that people are pretty paranoid about it. They don't express any negative opinions for fear of snitches. |

An AF guy dropped one and as it rolled he stepped on it, how people do. The cops took his dumb ass away. The sole of the foot is insulting to the Thais anyway. When they kicked us out of the embassy the Thais hung a sandal, sole down, on the American Seal there and put it in the paper. Their country, their rules. STFU and you will have no trouble. |
