Isaiah 26:20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers,
and shut thy doors about thee:
hide thyself as it were for a little moment,
until the indignation be overpast.

to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity:
the earth also shall disclose her blood,

This passage has a match also in the NT:
Revelation 3:10-- "Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth."

And 1 Thes. 5:9-- "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

So in both testaments, we see that God will not make his own people endure his wrath. In this life we will have "tribulation", Jesus told us, but that is not the wrath of God.

You get it.

Harry Cooper was right the whole time. It was safer in the cellar. They would have never known they were in the house had they hid themselves and stayed quiet...

There was a good site on this years back called the Lion of Jesherun or something like that, its down last I checked. That's really a challenging and difficult concept to ponder, but fascinating.
