Just been offered entry level position at an advertising and marketing firm. I got a question...
They are offering me a manager position. We have not spoken on salary yet. Actually I am fairly new to this line of business.

Anyone know how much a manager makes at an entry level advertising and marketing firm? Also what kind of work the position involves?

If you have no experience that would be a red flag to me. It might be a 100% commission sales position just labeled as marketing manager. Make sure you know what you are getting into before signing anything. If it is legit you can find salary ranges on Glassdoor and Indeed. You can also search about the company and find what current & former employees say about it. Good luck!!!

Many agencies can have various types of managers. So, I'm not sure how to answer your question.

Brand Manager is primarily a creative position that oversees the consistency of a brands visual and contextual messaging. There are also Media Managers, Production Managers and Account Managers (but these are usually called Account Executives).

If it is an entry level position, depending on the city and size of the agency, you are looking at around $25K to $35K, plus small benefits.

You have to ask yourself, why would they offer you a management position with no experience?

I smell commission based position with just a title of manager. Heck, I called a travel agency the other day and they said please hold until we put you through to one of our travel CEO's. haha

In any case, best of luck on your new position and I hope you make millions. Then you can come on here and start a thread about how you are a multi millionaire and want to give away 5000 dollars to whoever has the best story or something, then watch the seagulls fight over the scraps.

I see exactly the same ads on craigslist, constantly.

It reeks of scam.

Notice that they don't tell you what the job actually is.

Don't give them any personal info.

I can guarantee it won't be a "regular" job. It's not going to be an outright scam as such, but they're basically looking for a bunch of people with no experience to sell crap. Slave labor.

Probably selling cell phone contracts at a kiosk in a mall!

That's what I always think of when I see those kinds of ads.
