CERN Status as of 9/26 (Geneva), Beams dumped due to UFO

LHC: fill 4410, injection studies then physics, stable beams declared at 04:15

LHCb:
- Run smoothly with trigger configuration Physics1200 and a typical technical (physics) dead time around 5% (11%)
- The clock shift is around -0.45ns, close to the -0.5ns edge
-> Federico has been emailed
- Low occupancy warning from the PRS, see [link to lblogbook.cern.ch] and
[link to lbproblems.cern.ch]
-> Stephane and Yuri have been emailed
- A plot shows some warning in the "HCAL status overview" presenter page, see [link to lblogbook.cern.ch]
-> Yuri have been emailed
- Most of the errors in the error logger are related to events for which the ODIN bank is not found (one per
minute or so, from various HLT nodes)
- As expected after today intervention, the hole in the muon chambers has shifted from M2 to M4

To be done:
- Continue to take data
- Follow up on clock shift as well as PRS and HCAL warnings

These guys at CERN are fucking with you and laughing it up.

Got it. Sorry posted that as it was posted. Some interesting stuff happening tonight at Cern. I don't get freaked out very often but this is some pretty freaky shit happening.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it went down apprx. 7 hours ago with this being the last beam image and the problems occurred in the cooling systems (cyrogenics) at which point they stopped collisions. I'm just trying to figure out what this is, last time I saw this people were saying it could have been a wormhole. This is only the second time I have saw this happen.

Damn, wish we had more information on this or people that understood what dialect they were speaking in...

I know I'm going to sound like a complete idiot here, but I don't understand what this CERN thing is all about. What I've read is that they are trying to create 'dark matter' in order to better understand how the universe formed. On the other hand, what I've read here on this forum is that it is being used to create a wormhole of sorts? Then, earlier last week, I read where this thing was projected towards the Earth's core? Now, there is some suggestion that it may be able to cause the Hoover Dam to break. In layman's terms, can someone please share a cliff notes version of what the purpose of CERN really is, why it is located on a site known for some god by the name of Apollyon and why there is a statue of this thing there? Can this machine really be capable of allowing dark matter to escape and create all kinds of havoc?

CERN hasn't blowed-up the Planet yet !!!!

If you look a the duration of the last "test", its longer then every other one I have seen by hours. Looks about 14 hours long. Now there charging back up to do another "test". Seems like there going to be firing this up til they get what there looking for. Alot of errors. A Hole being been in a intervention. A lot activity.. Just my observation... Why is there no talk about this???
