Apparently I'm the jerk? hey, you married her mate and shes prolly lil off buuut hey, till death do you part. Gotta deal with it when u love em. Shouldnt have said anything and done it to her stuff then when she got mad at you, simply point to your books you like lol. Passive aggressive works best when making a point. Also keeps things from escalating too quickly. |

Apparently I'm the jerk? this is a test If you give in the bar will be set and she will walk on over you for the rest of your time knowing her text her to come home that you want to apologize then take something of hers she values and throw it out on the lawn In the end you will both apologize as equal |

Apparently I'm the jerk? SO we were just getting home from her moms. I'm carrying the little ones to the house when I see my wife throw three large histories of WW2 books out on the lawn. I'm like "Hey WTF did you do that for?" She said they were in the way and she wanted to set a pet carrier where they were. I got a bit pissed. Really pissed. Told her not to do that. She wouldn't like it if I did that to her stuff. She basically said that they were just garbage and I was overreacting.Went back and forth for a while and she eventually took off. Backand forth via txt she says shewasn't trying to be disrepectful but I'm the jerk and I need to apoligise. What say you GLP? Am I an asshole for yelling at her over this? Is it ok for her toss my stuff on the lawn because it was in the way? The books were sitting on a chest freezer in our laundry room. She wanted to put a pet carrier on the corner of the freezer and tossed the books to make room. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70396279 Did you take things too personally? They're just books. If she did it with some attitude what else is going on? I would have just put the pet carrier on top of the books if it were convenient. |

Apparently I'm the jerk? ^^^^ THIS ^^^^ And i would agree .... Why are your outdated book's of lies left on the freezzer ? If they mean that much to you why not put them away in a safe place ... Like ...I dunno? .... A bookshelf ? In all honesty .... You said you just got back ?.... Sounds like she might just be tired form the journey ... Add to that it might be "lady's week " ... Simmer down ... Take control of the situation and don't make it bigger ... Just Call her. Tell her your in the wrong ( Preemptive Strike To cut her off )...Tell her You just got upset over silly books ( Diminish the importance of the argument ) ... Tell her you should have moved them ( Again reemptive Strike so she cant tell you ) The above is GAME .... Sounds like you just need to brush up on yours a bit bro .... Having game = Happy Life. Good luck. |

Apparently I'm the jerk? What a cunt! And no, let's not use pms as an excuse for acting like that. And yeah, I'm a woman and I still say that. Normal reaction: She asks you to move the books to where you want them or she asks "Where do you want these books?" |

Apparently I'm the jerk? ^^^ This. Women do irrational things when they are having affairs. They look to start fights. That's exactly what she did. She went out of her way to start a fight. Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved. |

Apparently I'm the jerk? Next time she places her things somewhere that troubles you, pitch them out on the lawn. If she complains, tell her that she set the example so you were just doing what you thought she'd do. If she wants to further argue about it, then ask her to apologize for throwing your books out and you'll apologize for throwing her stuff out. Problem solved. If she won't at least break on those terms, it's time to show her the door because she isn't a reasonable person. |

Apparently I'm the jerk? So, she has little kids, a pet, a husband, an unorganized house, and just got back from visiting her mother? Give her a break! I definitely don't think it's okay to throw things into the yard, but I feel like doing MUCH worse sometimes! It is very frustrating to find things in the way when you are trying to do something else. OP, are your things often in the way? Those books should not be in the laundry room. Sounds like you guys need to work together to organize the house. I also don't think it's okay to walk out. Husbands and wives should NEVER do that. I think you should work on that first. NO MORE WALKING OUT. It does so much damage. But people also have a finite amount of energy and emotion. It sounds like she reached her limit today. She shouldn't have thrown the books out, you shouldn't have yelled, she shouldn't have walked out. Stop the nonsense and work it out. Figure out how to make things better, and then find a way to laugh about it. Hey Babe, remember the time you threw those books into the yard? Hopefully one day this will be a funny story for your grandkids and not an anecdote in divorce court. |

How reasonable is it to suggest breaking up a family with little kids over one stupid argument? |
