The world, according to Ojibwe legend, was created when muskrat brought mud from the bottom of the flood to be placed on turtle’s back. The resulting island which formed from the mud was known as Turtle Island (now Northern America)

If you look at the shell of any turtle in North America you will find that it has thirteen central plates (called scutes), surrounded by twenty-eight smaller plates. For First Nations people, the turtle’s shell was the original calendar – the larger plates representing their thirteen moon lunar cycle, and each moon containing 28 days.

The calendar on Turtle’s back equals 364 days. The Cherokee and many other tribes have 365 days in their year. The extra day is the Green Corn day which is usually in midsummer when the corn crop is new and holds the promise of a good harvest. On this day, all offenses are forgiven, and great feasts are prepared and eaten. This is the day that everything starts anew.

I’ve never read them. I’m thinking about it though.
I’ve had to retrain myself because when forced to through school to read or flip through books I stifled my ability to smell books in knowing which ones were safe to read just to get through school without any problems. It wasn’t until glp where there was two book suggestions that my third eye warned me of the actual reasons why to avoid many books until I was stronger in awareness. Before was on glp, it was showed me how to maneuver through books like a labyrinth safely so as not to be initiated or cursed unknowingly.
Those are umbrella terms for many things.

so in many indigenous stories the plant kingdoms eventually got fed up with humans carelessness.
