Wrong. That'll stop it breaking down matter and make things worse. You need soda crystals, and now and then brown sugar and yeast to keep it functioning properly.

If you plan to stockpile those types of meds, make sure you research each kind you have. The expiration date printed on the bottle has only been a law in the United States since 1979. Liquid drugs are less stable than tablet/powder/capsule medications. Also here is a link to a study that was done and it list several diff meds and the results. [link to articles.latimes.com]
