DC police have closed a section of northwest Washington and evacuated buildings after a grenade was brought to them.

The Metropolitan Police Department said their Fourth District police station and a few local nearby businesses were temporarily evacuated after a citizen arrived at the station with a hand grenade Sunday morning.

Police said the citizen brought the hand grenade to police for disposal.
