Fort Mims massacre

The Fort Mims massacre is cited in Margaret Mitchell's epic novel Gone with the Wind. In the book, a minor character, Grandma Fontaine shares her memories of seeing her entire family murdered in the Creek uprising following the massacre as a lesson to the protagonist, Scarlett.

She explains that a woman should never experience the worst that can happen to her, for then she can never experience fear again.

Something I've noticed watching these History Channel docu-series..is much of what we take for granted in both name brands and history came to a point where at the very moment to brand/battle was almost lost, something happens which is so completely unlikely but sets them up for success.

In regard to Daniel Boone and his fort..after 9 days of holding off the British led native peoples, the fort was nearly lost after many fire arrows were shot into the fort.

Almost miraculously..the rain started and put out the fire..giving the people inside the ability to hold the fort.

If the fort had fallen..America might look very different.


This happens a lot..almost like there is some divine design to all this.

This seems a silly thing. I comprehend it, living in a state of fear is giving that which you fear power over you - to the point it 'owns' your soul.
I still think it's a silly thing.

I had someone bring up something that was 'really good' at dealing with fear recently. It seemed a suggestion for me, though we've barely spoken in the past few years.

With some of the very strange things I get told or asked about on a fairly consistent basis, sometimes I swear there must be someone out there impersonating me. I hope not, but it wouldn't be the first time. Sad really.

Hi Seer, I saw that posted about cutting your hair for your reasons. I had a little chuckle because I have grown my hair long for the opposite but same reason.

It’s not fear so much as a full fracturing if your foundational belief system as ‘the impossible’ stares you in the face, grinning.

Where your entire concept of ‘reality’ dissolves and suddenly nothing and everything is real and unreal all at once.

Are cats lizards?

Can you smell orange?

Are angels birds?

Did that leaf just look at me?


Building yourself and your story (what you believe about yourself) back from a fractured foundation, isn’t for the faint of heart and people may find themselves in a state of stark raving madness or silent catatonia.

One is then left to pick up the pieces that might still fit and try to reform some semblance of balance, to move around in the now foreign potentially hostile world.

They call It an ego destroyer for a reason. Without an ego..you have no story to believe about yourself.

Things seems okay today so far.

I asked my partner to cut it. He was a little more aggressive with how much he cut off than I asked.

After it dried looks like I lost more like 8inches. It will grow back. Still in the middle of my back..so it’s fine.
