In Norse mythology, they are often contrasted with gods (Æsir and Vanir) and other non-human figures, such as dwarfs and elves, although the groupings are not always mutually exclusive.

The entities themselves are referred to by several other terms, including risi, þurs (or thurs) and troll if male and gýgr or tröllkona if female.

The jötnar typically dwell across boundaries from the gods and humans in lands such as Jötunheimr.

I use to watch the vids of people who are color blind putting on the glasses for the first time. Really cool that we can do this now.

Maybe in the next 10 years, blindness will be a thing of the past. Hopefully, neurodegenerative diseases as well.

My pupils are super dilated right now.
The doc put some drops in them to get some scanning done.
Would be awkward in a traffic stop.

really? that's incredible...
do you remember that show, I think it was baby geniuses, where the kids all have these special crazy telepathy powers, but they all know when they get to a certain age they'll lose those powers and forget everything? they called it, "passing over" - becoming an adult and losing those abilities

I remember watching it as a kid, and I felt sad like, am I really going to lose all these things I know?
I believe for the most part I did, as all kids very likely do

I do remember that and have a similar experience at around 5 having a dream where I was told I was going to wake up and forget everything that I knew about them. Whomever they were.

I remember getting up and feeling sad remembering the last thing he said, but nothing else.

They work but I take them sparingly. I think they make me feel groggy in the morning. Either that or I’m just tired and kinda drained.

I’d love to be able to take refreshing naps.

I´m not sure. But there were times I would live the nights and just go to bed when I felt like it and slept for as long as I slept. Like living without a clock.

I turned AC posting back on.
