I quit smoking the devil weed two weeks ago......

Good on you OP, I also stopped smoking this year, been smoking daily for 15 years. It is pretty easy actually, 2 days a bit uncomfortable and some night sweats but now I also finally start having those vivid dreams again or at least remember them again. I stopped smoking before and I still think IN MODERATION weed is awesome. Awesome for ideas and creativity. With daily use not so much. Your life goes on hold.

Awesome OP. It might sound crazy, but what helped me quit was that shatter stuff. Yes, its butane hash oil and its very potent. I got to the point where I was smoking over $100 of the stuff a day and then I tried to smoke a joint of some lovely kush and couldn't even catch a buzz so I got mad about it because my tolerance was crazy high, and got bored with smoking at the same time and just up and quit.

Been 8 months now and I feel fine. You'll have those days where things are just not working out at all and you feel like dipping into your emergency nugget stash but I just keep telling myself I'll smoke it tomorrow and tomorrow comes and things are fine so I don't even think about it.

Nice work, and yes the first few days were rough with the sweats, headaches and minor anxiety, other than that, it's not all that bad. A week at Disneyland helped keep my mind occupied....

Funny you say that, it too was the shatter that got me to quit although for different reasons....

When I started vaping the stuf with a nectar collector, my wife after about two months of it , told me that my whole attitude had changed and that I was being way more aggressive, angry and more likely to fly off the handle for no real reason. Of course, I angrily told her she was wrong.

Fast forward a week and while at work, my partner had me help him fold up a tarp. Upon grabbing it some water spilled on my leg and boot and I basically flew off the hande on him. He looked at me calmly and said basically the same thing as my wife.

The very next day, I hit some extremely potent shatter and wound up having major anxiety the whole fucking day and it was at that point I said enough is enough and quit right there....

I find your resolve spiritually enlightening. When something isn't working for you, you evaluated the risk vs reward and said enough is enough. Maybe I will get to that point one day and I hope I possess the courage to give it up.

For now it is still working for me. It gives me mental clarity to deal with shit I have control over and ignore the stuff that I don't. Kind of weird that it gives me focus and a clear mind. From what I read from the haters, it should be completely opposite.

If it works for you, great. I suspect that you're not a heavy user like I was....

Not to mention I am rather depressive so in retrospect, I prolly shouldn't have continued beyond the first few years but I convinced myself that I loved smoking weed. There's nothing worse than lying to yourself for thiry plus years!

That kind of sucks, like losing a best friend. I have smoked for 20 years now. I had maybe one month off as a test and almost lost my job over it. Way hyper, my ego grew, I stopped putting up with people's shit and started fighting back. Bad move considering I have been at my job for 13 years now.

The worst experience I have ever had was on Zyban. After 2 months on that pharmaceutical I was almost insane. LSD and shrooms have nothing on that.

I wonder if people's chemical balance will determine if stimulants vs depressants will have a better result? Or maybe the way is to just be externally chemically free. I have met very few people in life that have been externally chemical free. That will include all mood altering devices, nicotine, caffeine, alcohol, the works.

I could never handle weed! It was way more hallucinogenic then mushrooms and acid to me for some reason no matter how many times I smoked it..

Could only enjoy buzz about 4 hours later, first couple hours were always such a trip.

I've lost several of my best friends and I don't count weed as one of them.

As for being chemical free, I don't take pharmaceuticles, only asprin when necessary, quit smoking cigs three years ago and rarely drink and haven't been drunk in over ten years.

I count myself lucky that I have the resolve that I do to be able to kick out the bads when it's time, others I've known/ know weren't.....

Looking back on when I first started, I would have "good" highs and "bad" highs from marijuana. Good would be laughing my ass off and bad would be shivering on the couch thinking that I was dying... The more I smoked the less I would have of the bad highs but of course, they were still there.

As for acid, shrooms and blow, I've done my share, hell I was even offered black tar heroin when I was 16 which I smartly turned down and smoked the weed, dropped acid and drank southern comfort instead. Looking back, I only wish I'd had a responsible adult to guide me rather than encourage the behavior. The 80's are a real blur for me

That's not true.

I am severely physically addicted to marijuana. However, the withdrawl symptoms I face when I FUCKING CAN'T FIND ANY aren't all that serious. Hard to get to sleep, irritability in my mood. No big deal.

After 25 years of smoking, my only advice is that I don't believe the drug is meant to be consumed in really large bong hits like every 4 hours. It's meant to be smoked like once every 30 days. The high is far superior and the effect on the mind is amazing.

Smoking everyday starts to burn you out.

Even if people were charging 100 a gram for wax.. I couldn't even vape half the gram in a day. I can smoke almost a sk8ter in a fucking day of flower.

You would be so light-headed you'd pass out by 5PM....
