What Happens to ‘Anti-Capitalist’ House When It’s Time to Pay Rent Is Pure Poetic Justice
Along with the candidacy of Bernie Sanders has come much talk of socialism, and what it could mean for Americans.

Well, in a communal enclave at the University of Oregon, a group of ‘anti-capitalists’ are witnessing first hand what can happen with a socialist experiment.

And the results are in: nobody can pay the rent.

The group house is now saddled with a $14,000 debt, and they have two months to pay it.

The Campbell Club house was founded in 1935, inspired by a senior thesis about co-op living during the Depression era.

The Daily Emerald claims that the turn-over rate has been high, saying:

“Though rent is cheap — between $300 and $400 depending on the room — members tend to move in, stay for a few months and move out, often without paying the owed rent, the source of the debt. The co-op’s lack of funds and “anti-capitalist” stance make it reluctant to hire debt collectors.”
