Whatever hoodie I am wearing by the fire, I won't wash it till the smell wears off. It's a peaceful smell. It's been swell, but the swellings gone down.- Tank girl "To hell with them fella's. Each evening in winter I go out and fill it before bed. When I come to bed my wife tells me I've been out putting on cologne again. The best smelling wood to burn has to be birch and cedar In the dead of winter here -25 F I go out in the early morning to fill the beast again and sometimes sit there with my coffee and the boiler door open watching the sun rise in the crisp air. I found something online about how burning certain types of incense actually purifies the air and kills mold and germs. Makes sense wood would do the same. Smoke has always been used for purification and now there's science to back it up. Probably why they are trying to outlaw wood burning just like smoking. |

[link to www.powhatan.org] I bought a hardwood smoking kit made by Weber at Ollie's that isn't available on Weber's site with samples of hickory, apple, cherry, and beech. [link to store.weber.com] I take the round charcoal discs sold at smoke shops, let the whole disc get cherry red then put the wood chips on the charcoal. I cut them small using wire cutters. Anice alternative to smelly incense. peace and love |
