Humane way to kill a feral cat

Anyone who believes that killing anything is fun has more than one screw loose. Perhaps you should be put in a cage and dropped in water. I am sure you would be having a great time.

That is how I do it most of the time, garbage can. Diaper pale has locking lid with a hole for the hose. Quicker than anti freeze and less painful. I hate it when I miss with the gun and they run off wounded or need several shots.

Song birds are fine, but just try to communicate with one.

The psychopaths are the people who let these little toxoplasmose spreading monsters roam free so they can murder birds and all kinds of small animals.

thats what my neighbor did 10 years ago

now we have a dozen more.
And cat shit in all my gardens
They hang out by my bird feeders

The other neighbor trapped some of them and took them to the other side of town.

But there are still lots left, now of different colors.

But the good news is,
I have not seen any rats or snakes...

Snakes eat rats.

WRONG! And I'm not speaking of the obvious morality involved. Cats do not kill for sheer amusement. They hunt and kill their prey instinctively. If you see them playing with their prey before actually killing it, you don't understand what you are watching.

In reality, that cat is allowing the prey to escape if they can - knowing fully well that they already have a distinct advantage. It's actually a weird animal form of "fair-play." The cat will give it a fair chance to live but when it's clear the creature can't succeed is when the cat will clamp down on the back of the prey's neck for an instant kill. Further, this behavior is reserved only for smaller prey; larger animals are always killed quickly because the cat knows they already had a fair chance. All species of Felines, from Tigers to your Tabby will do this exact same thing. Pretty amazing when you understand what's actually going on out there in the genuine food chain!

And: if you think that whole thing indicates intelligence, listen to this...

After the kill it's common for a cat to play with it before actually eating. This action is especially prevalent when you have a clowder. The hunter will bring it's kill back not only to display it before the rest of the group, but also reacts the battle for them. This exact-same behavior was displayed by Neanderthals and was further documented via cave-paintings.

BTW: there are no other animals who exhibit this type of behavior in the wild. Felines are the only ones.... maybe that's why the Egyptians considered them Gods among the animals.

I have a terrible problem with feral & stray cats. They shit all over my garden and are destroying it.

I need to get rid of then, spending the few bucks as possible, and less painful to the cats.

I've heard that aspirin or MSG could do it.

Some could help? tks
