Assad is a bad person ... but he is on the correct side of this fight. Assad at least is one who allows a pluralistic NONreligious society, his opponents are just the opposite.

Saudi backed Wahhabi Shiite Fundamentalists are worse for the world, worse for the Middle East, worse for Syria, and worse for the remaining small religious NON-Islamic religions in the Middle East.

The Saudi Government has BOUGHT the US Government which is the basic reason behind the rise of violent religious extremism throughout the Muslim world ... and yes in Europe.

The Saudi's FUND the mosque building throughout Europe, and much of the world, and then THEY STAFF those mosques with EXTREME WAHHABI IMMANS, a subset of Islam that used to be a very small minority but because of Saudi Arabia money is now the principal Islamic sect, at least at the mosque level, in areas where Muslim Immigrants are moving to.

The "moderate" Assad opposition groups could NOT defeat the Islamic Extremists if Assad is removed ... ie: Syria will fall under control of the Islamic Extremists within weeks at the most, most like in days.
