Re: Another Millennial Thread
I had a run in with a millennial a couple days ago.
I had thought some of the stories about them were embellished up till then.

I have an old car that I was given as payment for money loaned to a friend. It is an 1986 Pontiac Fiero.
To be a 30 year old car it is in good shape, but not perfect.
I fixed some minor issues replaced some worn parts before trying to sell it. It my ad I said that it had good tires and ran great but the air conditioner did not work.
I got a couple texts from a guy that sounded interested, he wanted pictures of several things that were not in the ad.
He finally called to get directions to come test drive it.
He told me he was going to College and needed basic transportation and his parents could not afford much but they would give him $1500 as a down payment on something newer of to buy an older car. I was asking $2000 but because I wanted to sell it I told him I would take $1500 cash.
Here is where things started going bad. He ask about what was wrong. I told him the radio had a Cassette player only. He was confused and ask if it had a USB port for his phone. I told him no but I had an adapter that I would give him that went into the tape slot. He was confused but took my word that it would work. I then told him that is ran great and \I had just tuned it up and told him what I replaced which got to the Distributor cap. I swear I am not making this up, he ask me if the old cap leaked. I was not sure what he had ask so I said what do you mean. He repeated did the old cap leak distributor fluid. I just told him no but it was just old.
Then we get to the air conditioner. He mentioned how hard it would be to fix. I told him I had no idea, then he said he hoped he could get it fixed before it got COLD. I again ask what, he said that he was worried about driving it when it was real cold and the heat not working. I had to explain how the air conditioner being bad did not mean that the heat did not work. I told him that the air compressor may need replaced and that it would not be cheap. he then told me that the ad said the tires were good. I told him they were, so he ask why it would need a new air compressor it the tires were good. I told him that the air compressor was part of the air conditioning system. When he was happy with what I had told him I set up a time and place to meet him.
When he got there to drive it I saw a 19-20year old male (not a man) with his man-bun with him mom who drove him there. He liked the car because it "looked cool"
When he got in it to test drive and started it up I could see him struggling with the steering wheel. I ask what was wrong and he told me it was hard to turn. I told him that the car did not have power steering.
That was the deal breaker for him. He could not drive a car that was that hard to to turn the wheel on. He would never be able to park it in a tight spot.
If I had not been the person that it happened to I would have thought this story was a lie.
When I was 19 I could have rebuilt the engine in that car by myself and this kid thought a distributor cap held in the distributor fluid.

I went into a Dunkin Donuts the other day. Walked up to the counter, a young lady(carefully chosen words, so as not to offend) at the register greeted me with a sigh.

I said hello, how are you. She replied, I will be better in 3 minutes. I said, really, how so. She answered I get off in 3 minutes.

I thought to myself oh no you did not just do that. I was very nice and polite, but she did not get off in 3 minutes. I had several questions, about what she was going to do after work. Then I got around to asking how long each of the donuts I was interested had been sitting there, because I wanted really fresh donuts. I asked about the coffee and how fresh it was. By the time I was done, she clocked out 20 minutes later.

Goddamn you are a pussy!!

You think people haven't been working 50 hours a week until recently? It's been going on for decades buttercup.

My husband puts in 15 hour days on a regular basis because he has shit to get done, he has responsibilities. My dad used to work 80 hours a week. I put in an insane amount of hours when I worked.

Welcome to the real world, asshole.

cruise Who the fuck told you boomers and gen x'ers didn't have to work hard to survive? According to you live we lived in utopia, a glorious time where we worked a few hours weekly and lived high on the hog. You are an ignorant kid.

Excellent site. It really hits the nail on the head, especially regarding millennial females, and their "I'm special" mentality.

I work in service management, and do some HR as part of my duties. I call it separating the wheat from the chaff.

What I notice is the schoolgirls, the ones who have had college experience, or plan to go, are so self-absorbed. They act like know-it-alls, but cry quickly when things don't go their way. Sheltered, spoiled, selfish creatures.

I would rather hire the kids who hated school. They're hungry for a career in what college kids would think is beneath their station, even though there is room for advancement and also real-world experience to learn how to run your own business. The dropouts or alternative school kids don't have any delusions about themselves. They're school of hard knocks types who are better prepared at 18 than most seven-year plan college types.

What it boils down to is laziness. These prima donna millennials don't want to work. And why should they? Their debt degree will lead to a cubicle job, staring at a plastic screen, shuffling funny money around or creating VirtuaWorld so the 20-something virgins in mommy's basement can masturbate. They're the ones making robots so no one has to work. What a brave new world...a feeding tube in your mouth, a draining tube in your anus, and a flat plastic screen full of infotainment to stare at all day.

I'm a good judge of who will do well when it rains hard. It's not so bad up here, in the Redoubt. We still have good people, but the selfish and spoiled abound and I can see it getting worse with each generation.

With spit in your coffee and likely piss in the donuts. I mean, really, the best way of getting something out of that situation was to call the manager over, who would have given you your meal for free due to the inconvenience of the cashier bitching. What did you gain from this experience, other than wasting your own time and allowing the cashier to make more money? Sure, she wasn't happy about staying, but that extra 20 minutes is probably a gallon of gas in her tank.

What is hilarious is these previous generations, you know, the ones who utterly decimated this country, are trying SO hard to pin the blame on anything they can, to millennials. Yet, as can be seen in this thread, the previous generations never even grew up. It's a wonder the Boomers are still in positions of power, when their kids were raised to be idiots and breed idiots.

Hey, dumb fucks, who raised these kids? Your generation. So when you complain about the idiots running around, just know, they are the fruit of your loins. You and your generation taught these kids to behave the way they do. Had you set better examples, done something worthy with your life (name me one, real, millennial Role Model), maybe your kids wouldn't be so fucked up.

It's sad because these previous generations are playing the victim card like Obama plays the race card. They fuck up them blame anything they can, other than themselves.

Re: Another Millennial Thread
There has been quite a bit of generation bashing here lately. So what the hell, I think I will get in on it also. Maybe I can now just group it all into one post.

Millennials, I must say do have some sort of deluded sense of reality about the world around them. I am not sure where or how this came about, but it certainly is prevalent. I have seen a few posts from Millennials that do actually seem to have their shit together and I am not referring to you and I mean no offense, it’s the others I am speaking about.

Some examples of the millennial mentality are this, but not limited to:

Living at home: If your parents are providing your means of survival in this world, then you are a problem. If you just party all the time, sit around the house playing xbox, then you are part of the problem, you are lazy. Living at home is not a necessarily a bad thing as long as you are pulling your weight. You work, you pay your fair share, you help out with the maintenance of the home. As far as I am concerned, if you want free room and board there are only two places to get that. Join the military or go to prison.

Entitled: There is a hierarchy of things in this world. Just because you graduate from college does not mean your first job upon graduating will be the CEO or some level of management and receive a 6 figure paycheck. You must earn your way into that position, by starting at the bottom and moving up. College does not teach you everything you need to know about running a business or managing people. We were all told we can be whatever we wanted to be when we grew up. But you all seem to have missed the part about having to work for it. It will not be handed to you.

Skills: You must know how to do more than configure a smartphone and wi-fi router. If some of you put as much effort into bettering your life and situation as you do your video games, you would probably do pretty well. You must also know how to do a few other things. Cooking, basic auto repair, basic plumbing, basic electric, build a shed, build a brick mailbox, patch clothing, cook your dinner over a fire, catch your own dinner, the possibilities are endless, choose two to know, at least.

Tattoos: Tattoos have been in many cultures for many years. The point here is, if you are going to get one, get one that has some sort of meaning. Not because it looks cool. The Army Rangers get a Ranger tat to symbolize membership in a lifelong brotherhood, many other examples of this. But just because you pick one out of a book is a poor excuse to prove your perceived independence to the world. Oh, and pay your bills first.

Know it alls: I have seen many Millennials post about their Boomer boss. Millennials, no matter how fucked up you think your boomer boss may be, you are there to do the job he/she hired you to do, which you agreed to by accepting whatever payment was offered. What you fail to realize is that chances are, that boomer has learned the hard way. He/she may not have had the luxury of going to college, but yet that never stopped them from putting everything they could muster into something and making it work. The last thing they need is some little punk ass kid, three months out of a liberal college coming in there and telling the boomer how to run a business. Odds are, that boomer you are working for has been operating that business or several others for over 30 years, what could you actually say to them to change what they have obviously been doing right for so many years?

They were not handed that business, they busted their ass building it. If the boomer boss is so difficult to work for, then go work for another Millennial at McDonalds or something. The boomer is the boss, he is there to make money, if they are not making money, then neither do you and you are certainly not entitled to the profits of such business. If you had as much blood and sweat invested as the owner, then you would have valid gripe, but you don’t. You have nothing invested. You want to be the boss, then start your own business

No generation is perfect, every generation has their shortcomings, that is understood and we have always worked through them. However, Boomers and GenX are not going to kiss your ass. We all live in the same fucked up world, we all have to find our own way. We did not grow up in a world where we were coddled and have our safe spaces, and you will not be the exception. Just because it is a fucked up world, does not mean you can throw your hands up in the air, say fuck it and let someone else support you. If you do not want to be ridiculed, then put your big boy/girl pants on, grab your bootstraps and step it up. Otherwise you will never be taken seriously and you will be ridiculed, just like we were when we whined. Yes, we whined too, but someone along the way told us to quit being a pussy and to buck up, and we did and when we grew up we thanked them for it.

Boomers are scum, too stupid to understand life. It makes me sad when I see a boomer lecturing my generation. Most boomers are stupid as fuck and don't understand the simple concepts such as inflation and cost of living which plague us Millennials. Most boomers couldn't survive in the economy today without the debt slave millennials they constantly issue debt. If you don't have a TV in your house you might as well be dead to the average boomer, because they have to be told what to do by it and without it couldn't live their life or form a political opinion. They are a brainwashed and spoiled generation that rejoice in the most disgusting forms of degeneracy and stupid hobbies, some too disgusting to list such as BDSM and mass drug consumption. They protested fighting communism in Vietnam and failed to win the war because they are quitters that wanted to smoke blunts and give black people rights instead. They messed up the generation baton passing so bad by messing up the budget when they were handed a financially historically well off America. Then they allowed social security to be raided and mass immigration from all none white nations to keep the economy afloat. They allow Jewish financial interests to repeatedly inflate financial bubbles and pop them, destroying the boomers 401k's and forcing them to work their entire lives and prevent Millenial and GenX from taking leadership roles, which will probably never even happen at this point because our economy is about to go into the shitter again. And they think they are smart, when in reality their generation as a whole is what messed up America and hold all positions of power. Now don't get me wrong, some are ok, but the average boomer will fire you and replace you with a Muslim Immigrant or Black dude if they can save even $1.00 an hour, even if that person can't speak English, is Illegal, and has Hepatitis or TB. They will always promote blacks, mexicans, and women over you because you are a hard worker and that threatens the boomer. They must promote incompetents in order to hold their grip on power and the social order in the office. And then one day when you say something trying to be diplomatic about how Jamal spit in a customers food or and talked shit to a client, you will be fired for being racist even though you are the hardest worker there. Oh and if you have the unfortunate case of being employed to an Asian or Black they will treat you like shit and fuck with you just because you are White. So fuck off and enjoy watching Millennials go on our Iphones to prepare for the upcoming happenings by acquiring maximum debt loads that will never be paid back. I don't care what you say or what you think because we are a product of a failed generation: Boomers.

Wow you really are something else.

The #1 thing boomers may be guilty of is wanting to be 'friends' with their kids, rather than parents. Their kids have plenty of friends but only one - maybe two - sets of parents.

I am guilty of this with my eldest daughter, who is 26 (1990). I was a young mother and wanted to be her friend, which backfired on me. She wouldn't take me seriously as a parent, there was no respect, and she would even consider herself superior to me.

I gave her all the love and support (financial and emotional) a mother could give a child....and she is 100% ungrateful for all of it.

As an adult, she has basically cut me out of her life because I attempted to exert my 'parent status' on her. She would have none of it. She has slandered me publically and disrespected me and has isolated herself from her sister, brothers, stepfather and extended relatives....because my husband and I would not take her insulant, ungrateful, disrespectful behaviour any longer. Because we expected her to set an example for her younger siblings. Because we expected a minimum about of respect from her. Because we would not buy her love.

Imagine this - She cut us out of her life because we expressed the reasonable disappointment in the fact that she never bothered to bring the man she lives with and has a baby with over to our house to meet us, despite living 5 blocks away. She was "OFFENDED" because I suggested she bring her man over to help prepare the patio for the baby shower I was throwing THEM. She slammed me for expecting her man to "move dirt" for me!!! She asserted that the onus was on us to go out of our way for them. It was horrible. She cancelled the baby shower. She slammed her stepdad because he told her he would have liked it if she had the decency to bring the boy over to meet her parents. She plays passive-aggressive and narcissistic....big time. She cut me out of the last trimester of her pregnancy.

I was not notified when my daughter went into labour, and only found out about my granddaughter's birth the following day. I had to basically make an appointment to see her, and only got to see my little grandchild once. She is now a year old. :( My daughter has ripped my heart out of my chest and trampled on it. And she flung the bloody pieces of it at the rest of my family.

Today she is living 4 hours away with her man-bunned pizza cooking boyfriend and their baby in a condo owned by HIS FATHER who is a self-made wealthy boomer who worked hard and took risks to be well-off today. Something his son would know nothing about.

Millennials. Yep. :(

Wow. I'm so sorry you had to deal with all of that. My daughter born in 1990 did not tell me she was getting married a few months ago.

I get it.

You know, I thought I was alone in this for the longest time, but eventually I realized it is endemic of that freaking generation....There are far too many of us parents disrespected or tossed aside in this day and age....and far too many little ones who don't know their grandparents love them very much.

Re: Another Millennial Thread
I'm a generation X er. The system has always been about the elite. They have been racking in cash with false flags and wars since the 1920's. The difference is that boomers were still keeping and spending their money. The well has finally run dry and now, since no one is getting ahead, people are beginning to notice that the odds are not stacked in our favor. Had the well run dry for the boomers, they would have been bitching also. Actually, they were bitching. They were the hippies, the rebels, going on the road to avoid draft to a war that was set up by the elites. Sound familiar? The money game has run its course. That is the only difference. If we could just recognise that this is an us vs them situation, and not an us against each other situation, we might be able to get our lives back, but humans are dumb so not likely.

(genXer here)

I remember trying to play *us vs them* game. Everyone in the game who claims to be part of the *us* just wants a fix without having to do any work. They're seeking ONLY what is in their best interest while doing as little as possible to earn it. They also don't really want to fix anything, they just want nicer stuff and an easier way to get it.

I've resolved myself to the fact that this is how the world works. I have learned to come to grips with the fact that the number one driving force in humans is self-preservation.

My only duty is to my own and myself at this point in life. I've provided for and prepared my family as best I can for come what may and I'll be damned if any boomer or millennial is going to have a say about it while pointing their fingers in my direction to blame me (a genXer) for their shortcomings. They expect that I should just sit, listen, and apologize to them while they do it...

...ain't gonna happen, but they will get an ear full of what I have to say. If they don't want to hear it, well, then they should have kept their trap shut...

The older I get the less I keep my mouth shut...
"The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive. ... Our own fight for the West does not begin on the battlefield — it begins with our minds, our wills, and our souls... Americans, Poles, and the nations of Europe value individual freedom and sovereignty. We must work together to counter forces, whether they come from inside or out, from the South or the East, that threaten over time to undermine these values and to erase the bonds of culture, faith and tradition that make us who we are. I am here today not just to visit an old ally, but to hold it up as an example for others who seek freedom and who wish to summon the courage and the will to defend our civilization." ~President Donald J Trump
