Re: Another Millennial Thread

Boomers are scum, too stupid to understand life. It makes me sad when I see a boomer lecturing my generation. Most boomers are stupid as fuck and don't understand the simple concepts such as inflation and cost of living which plague us Millennials. Most boomers couldn't survive in the economy today without the debt slave millennials they constantly issue debt. If you don't have a TV in your house you might as well be dead to the average boomer, because they have to be told what to do by it and without it couldn't live their life or form a political opinion. They are a brainwashed and spoiled generation that rejoice in the most disgusting forms of degeneracy and stupid hobbies, some too disgusting to list such as BDSM and mass drug consumption. They protested fighting communism in Vietnam and failed to win the war because they are quitters that wanted to smoke blunts and give black people rights instead. They messed up the generation baton passing so bad by messing up the budget when they were handed a financially historically well off America. Then they allowed social security to be raided and mass immigration from all none white nations to keep the economy afloat. They allow Jewish financial interests to repeatedly inflate financial bubbles and pop them, destroying the boomers 401k's and forcing them to work their entire lives and prevent Millenial and GenX from taking leadership roles, which will probably never even happen at this point because our economy is about to go into the shitter again. And they think they are smart, when in reality their generation as a whole is what messed up America and hold all positions of power. Now don't get me wrong, some are ok, but the average boomer will fire you and replace you with a Muslim Immigrant or Black dude if they can save even $1.00 an hour, even if that person can't speak English, is Illegal, and has Hepatitis or TB. They will always promote blacks, mexicans, and women over you because you are a hard worker and that threatens the boomer. They must promote incompetents in order to hold their grip on power and the social order in the office. And then one day when you say something trying to be diplomatic about how Jamal spit in a customers food or and talked shit to a client, you will be fired for being racist even though you are the hardest worker there. Oh and if you have the unfortunate case of being employed to an Asian or Black they will treat you like shit and fuck with you just because you are White. So fuck off and enjoy watching Millennials go on our Iphones to prepare for the upcoming happenings by acquiring maximum debt loads that will never be paid back. I don't care what you say or what you think because we are a product of a failed generation: Boomers.

Re: Another Millennial Thread
There has been quite a bit of generation bashing here lately. So what the hell, I think I will get in on it also. Maybe I can now just group it all into one post.

Millennials, I must say do have some sort of deluded sense of reality about the world around them. I am not sure where or how this came about, but it certainly is prevalent. I have seen a few posts from Millennials that do actually seem to have their shit together and I am not referring to you and I mean no offense, it’s the others I am speaking about.

Some examples of the millennial mentality are this, but not limited to:

Living at home: If your parents are providing your means of survival in this world, then you are a problem. If you just party all the time, sit around the house playing xbox, then you are part of the problem, you are lazy. Living at home is not a necessarily a bad thing as long as you are pulling your weight. You work, you pay your fair share, you help out with the maintenance of the home. As far as I am concerned, if you want free room and board there are only two places to get that. Join the military or go to prison.

Entitled: There is a hierarchy of things in this world. Just because you graduate from college does not mean your first job upon graduating will be the CEO or some level of management and receive a 6 figure paycheck. You must earn your way into that position, by starting at the bottom and moving up. College does not teach you everything you need to know about running a business or managing people. We were all told we can be whatever we wanted to be when we grew up. But you all seem to have missed the part about having to work for it. It will not be handed to you.

Skills: You must know how to do more than configure a smartphone and wi-fi router. If some of you put as much effort into bettering your life and situation as you do your video games, you would probably do pretty well. You must also know how to do a few other things. Cooking, basic auto repair, basic plumbing, basic electric, build a shed, build a brick mailbox, patch clothing, cook your dinner over a fire, catch your own dinner, the possibilities are endless, choose two to know, at least.

Tattoos: Tattoos have been in many cultures for many years. The point here is, if you are going to get one, get one that has some sort of meaning. Not because it looks cool. The Army Rangers get a Ranger tat to symbolize membership in a lifelong brotherhood, many other examples of this. But just because you pick one out of a book is a poor excuse to prove your perceived independence to the world. Oh, and pay your bills first.

Know it alls: I have seen many Millennials post about their Boomer boss. Millennials, no matter how fucked up you think your boomer boss may be, you are there to do the job he/she hired you to do, which you agreed to by accepting whatever payment was offered. What you fail to realize is that chances are, that boomer has learned the hard way. He/she may not have had the luxury of going to college, but yet that never stopped them from putting everything they could muster into something and making it work. The last thing they need is some little punk ass kid, three months out of a liberal college coming in there and telling the boomer how to run a business. Odds are, that boomer you are working for has been operating that business or several others for over 30 years, what could you actually say to them to change what they have obviously been doing right for so many years?

They were not handed that business, they busted their ass building it. If the boomer boss is so difficult to work for, then go work for another Millennial at McDonalds or something. The boomer is the boss, he is there to make money, if they are not making money, then neither do you and you are certainly not entitled to the profits of such business. If you had as much blood and sweat invested as the owner, then you would have valid gripe, but you don’t. You have nothing invested. You want to be the boss, then start your own business

No generation is perfect, every generation has their shortcomings, that is understood and we have always worked through them. However, Boomers and GenX are not going to kiss your ass. We all live in the same fucked up world, we all have to find our own way. We did not grow up in a world where we were coddled and have our safe spaces, and you will not be the exception. Just because it is a fucked up world, does not mean you can throw your hands up in the air, say fuck it and let someone else support you. If you do not want to be ridiculed, then put your big boy/girl pants on, grab your bootstraps and step it up. Otherwise you will never be taken seriously and you will be ridiculed, just like we were when we whined. Yes, we whined too, but someone along the way told us to quit being a pussy and to buck up, and we did and when we grew up we thanked them for it.

You sound like an old guy who's so butthurt about how shitty his life has been. You say that "millennials" complain all the time, yet you take the time to type out such a long post in which you COMPLAIN about millennials.

This quote is so ridiculous: "The boomer is the boss"

Laughing my ass off. So you wanna be the boss? Stop trying to identify with a whole generation. Not every "boomer" is a butthurt old guy who thinks like you do.

This discussion is so pointless. It's not the millennials that are soooo terrible. Fact is, an old guy like you should know this by the way, for hundreds of years old people have been complaining about how the youth is fucked up and how the world can't go on once those younger generations take over. Guess what, we're still here.
And no, this time it's not different.

Yeah, it sucks, and it's nothing new. My grandparents worked every day of their lives and had nothing to show for it at the end, not because they didn't try hard enough, just because that's the way the world is. But they never complained. They were sent to war, they went through the depression, and they just sucked it up and gave thanks to be alive.

If you take a look, it isn't the boomers that are in debt, most of us have paid for our homes years ago, personally my credit card debt is around $10 because netflix charges just happened. That's it. The gen xers are the ones that went wild accruing debt they can't pay and using up any equity they built up to acquire more debt. And most of the debt you speak of isn't personal debt at all, it's government and corporate debt, not our fault, not yours, but the fault of corrupt and incompetent people at the top and those assholes span all generations. Instead of pointing fingers at us, you should be standing up against that lot. They are the common enemy.

Most younger generations make easy targets for the older to ridicule. Most in The West have had the luxury of being dumb when young. Some even manage to enjoy that luxury into old age.

Re: Another Millennial Thread
I was born in 1988. I agree with what your thread is saying. I have friends from high school that have literally worked 2 years out of the nine we've been out of school. They are lazy and the number one reason why they are nowhere in their lives is because they have enablers. It's their parents. I've never seen anything like it.

As I've had a job since 9th grade and parents that instilled hard work and pride as an individual, their parents pussified them. Even doing laundry for them to this very fucking day. They are 28 and 29. Brothers.

Over the years we've become more and more distant because of the lack of common ground on everything in life. While they've wasted a decade, I've worked, moved away to work, moved back home, have my own place, have a girlfriend I love very much, and a job that allows me to live very well. All of this with no college degree.

Not everyone in the millennial generation is a piece of shit, but there definitely are a lot that are. Many unskilled individuals. They have potential...which brings me to my next point.

Demeaning an entire generation, even if it has weight, is not only an illogical approach to "educate" them, it's suicidal. We need consistency in our thoughts if there will be any hope for a better future.

Each generation should teach their children everything they know so that the children are smarter than their parents. That is evolution. Belittling younger generations is suicide as a race. Instead, do something constructive and volunteer in your community or do something that positively educates them in the direction we need. Ignorance doesn't work well against ignorance.

I manage 7 people and work from sun up to sun down. I go home work on my house play with my kids love my wife. She stays home watches my boys (much harder job than mine) cleans and still does side work. She was born in 1990. We both bust our asses and it shows. We are the youngest homeowners in our neighborhood by at least three years. The best thing my mother ever did for me was kicking me out at:18. Because before that I was a lazy f****** slob just like a lot of the Millennials living at home. Couldn't hold a job plays video games all day and my mom kicked me out 3 months before I turn 19 and I found an undeniable work ethic that I never knew I had. I found my entrepreneurial spirit, I found my ambition and she saved my life by not letting me move back home. Do your Millennial children a favor parents and kick them the f*** out otherwise you're hurting them. I was raised by a single mother and was a lazy piece of s*** until she kicked me out.

The boomers are a generation that took to the streets to protest what they were against and to promote change. They protested against their generation getting sent to Vietnam and forced the end of that war. They boycotted unethical corporations, they maybe didn't stop the world from becoming the cesspool that their parents generation was steering the world towards, but they at least tried. Many of us took billy clubs to the head or were taken to jail for staging peaceful sit ins.

I haven't seen millenials standing up to anything. You can whine and dislike things on facebook, but that isn't the same as taking a stand. If you are caught up hating boomers (please remember that most boomers are now in their late 60s and 70s) then you are oblivious to the real problem. That doesn't bode well for the world once the older boomers are gone.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69087515

Consider that this isn't totally true.

I think there were TWO factions of "us." Those Boomers who "followed the rules," believed their parents and their government - call us LATE B(l)OOMERS (see what I did?) We were raised by The Greatest Generation. They went to fight in WWI and WWII, and loved their country. They raised us to love it, too. To cherish it, to protect it, to fight for it, to ACCEPT OUR ELECTED LEADERS AS PROTECTORS OF OUR CONSTITUTION.

At the same time, dissent was forming, basically from those on the "left," although not called that at the time. The "communists" - whose whole purpose was to DESTROY that great nation of America. They came in, quietly, and began to whisper dissentions, helped start riots, screamed about all the "injustices," and kids whose parents were dissatisfied and believed and bought into all this crap also talked this way. THOSE kids marched, smoked dope, dropped out, deferred or defected from military service. NOT the loyal American kids, kids who went on to finish school and marry (and STAY married!), hold steady jobs or start their own businesses, and still believed their government had their backs.

If you want to BLAME all this shit on all Boomers, you are dead wrong! I remember in 1979. I think? The whole Iran shit....gas prices going crazy. Gas literally DOUBLED OVERNIGHT. I mean - DOUBLED. Imagine paying 2.10 today, and 4.20 tomorrow? OK, gas wasn't $2/gal, but DOUBLING OVERNIGHT was rough. Interest rates went through the roof (20-21%). My point in all this, ac263, is that Boomers DO know about "inflation," and trying to "live within our means," etc. At least the straight arrow ones, the ones who want a great nation, and want their kids to have a good education and do well for themselves in their adulthood. But to blame ALL Boomers for the ills of today - the raiding of Social Security, the inflation, the hate. No. Wasn't us.

Was more likely our "brothers and sisters," who bought into the LIE that "the man" was oppressing them, that the only way to effect change was to RIOT, to break and burn things. I think now, looking back, that these were "Alinsky" tactics that were being tested to see how well they worked to move people's thoughts and actions into being what they wanted them to be. When they saw that they worked to change attitudes and bring about actions, they started instituted them in schools, first in a few "liberal" colleges, and then more and more, and now in ALL aged schools....right down to your little boys and girls....OH, THAT'S RIGHT! YOU CAN'T CALL THEM THAT ANYMORE! That, right there, tells you what's wrong.

If you want to blame ANYONE, blame them for following "progressive," and "Liberal" ideologies that have brought our country to its knees, and put us in the situation we are in, where your dollars - hard worked for - don't even buy enough groceries for a house big enough to live in, and any left over for gas in your car.

Blame the ones who voted for "progressive" politicians, not those of us who have voted for more "CONSERVATIVE" candidates all along. Because it's the PROGRESSIVE candidates that are stealing everything that isn't nailed down, and working to figure out how to steal THAT STUFF, TOO!

Re: Another Millennial Thread
Why should be working 12 hours a day for 50 years just to survive? To get less than the previous generation? To pay for YOUR fucking debt? We are fucking slaves because of you, because you werent smart enough to see the degenerated way on which our so called elite led us.
I'm very sad to see that we live today in a world that has no moral values, but boomers and genx are responsible for this as much as millenials if not more.

When are you going to start stepping up and doing something? I know, its just easier to point fingers and sit back and do nothing. If you are not willing get out there and do something then you are no better than the previous generations.
Don't forget some of that debt was incurred raising your sorry ungrateful ass. Buying your clothes, your food, your toys, your consoles, your phones, etc etc etc.

Step up and do what? Work more in a fucked up system that will benefit the ultra rich? Cause you know it wont benefit me. I have a master degree in finance and my job is to fuck people over. Poor people. The more I do it the more I'm rewarded. Sick fucking world.
The revolution then? How? Peace and love demonstration? How did that worked out for you? FUCK THAT SHIT. I'm just going to watch this all charade crumble upon itself.

Born in 89. More successful than the majority of my peers and without a college degree. I half a wife and two little boys, a mortgage, two side businesses and a day job in which I run my bosses company while he transistions into retirement. Now I have a career a mortgage a wife two children side businesses a faithful follower of my religion. All of these things came after I was kicked out not before.

I've just finished reading. Great article. Here's the summation for Lucy (millennials)

Here’s my advice for Lucy:

1) Stay wildly ambitious. The current world is bubbling with opportunity for an ambitious person to find flowery, fulfilling success. The specific direction may be unclear, but it’ll work itself out—just dive in somewhere.

2) Stop thinking that you’re special. The fact is, right now, you’re not special. You’re another completely inexperienced young person who doesn’t have all that much to offer yet. You can become special by working really hard for a long time.

3) Ignore everyone else. Other people’s grass seeming greener is no new concept, but in today’s image crafting world, other people’s grass looks like a glorious meadow. The truth is that everyone else is just as indecisive, self-doubting, and frustrated as you are, and if you just do your thing, you’ll never have any reason to envy others.

From the end of the article :)

This is far better than the thread you made yourself before.
So , in the end it is all about, if necessary, forcing a life event by the parents.
Teaching the birds to fly by kicking them out of the nest.

take care
