I think I scared this little venue's peeps. lol  Karaoke is supposed to be fun though. She doesn't seem like a good host. Don't mind her but next time, maybe go with the flow :))) Yeah, it's good to choose the material based on the audience. However, guys earlier than me did multiple rap songs with "fuck police" "nigA" and "fag" lyrics in it. This chick probably didn't like the fat woman references in my song selection. And she was too young to know it is a classic rock song. |

I never do it unless I've had at least one beer, usually two. And three beers for me is quite drunk. One too many drinks, and your singing goes to SHIT. I've seen super talented singers get up on stage, too drunk, and sound like shit when normally they are great. So my formula is to sing after about 1 1/2 beers being drunk. |

That is my next goal - to go to open mikes and perform original songs with guitar. Karaoke is good for getting used to being on stage, and stage prsence, getting used to communicating with the crowd. If you have any advices or ideas about open mike and are still in this thread, please post them here. |
