I learned a new word the other day listening to RC Sproul talk about what Luther did:
Sasserdotalism
The idea that you can earn your way into eternal life with God. Thanks to Luther, the revolution against Sasserdotalism was started.
Praise God for his Grace...and the Faith we receive through Christ by reading God's word for God's glory alone!

Faith alone huh?

James 2:14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Now in the following Jesus talks about his second coming, so the following applies to modern Christians.

Jesus says those who have eternal life are those who feed and clothed those in need, or love and help others.

It's not faith alone.

It's faith and works.

Forget to add the verses.

Mathews 25:31 - 46. Here Jesus talks about his second coming and dividing the goat from the sheep.

Jesus doesn't say the goats go into eternal punishment because they didn't have faith.

Jesus says they go into eternal punishment because they didn't feed and clothed those in need.

Jesu doesn't say people who have eternal life are those who believed him in those verses.

Jesus says they have eternal life because they fed and clothed those in need, or loved and helped others.

So again, it's faith and works.

No, I'm not saying the popes, other then Peter, were Apostles. What I am saying is Protestantism rejects the Apostolic Church. By that I mean if you go back to day one of the Church it looks most like the Catholic or Orthodox Church. If you transported an ancient Christian to a modern Protestant service he'd have no idea what was going on. If you transported him to a modern Catholic Mass he'd feel at home. Read Justin Martyr describe early Christian services. It sounds just like a Mass. Protestantism claims to get back to the real roots of Christianity through the Bible alone. But it is just an invention of modern man.

Better that every person can read the Bible for himself and interpret it the way the Holy Spirit leads him than to never be able to hold his own Bible and have to depend on a priest, bishop, cardinal or pope to tell them what to believe.

Faith is personal and that is what was wrong with Catholicism. It was based on a ceremony and a sacrifice which they added to a breaking of bread among believers in memory of what Christ did on the cross. They had to add their own "take" on it instead of just following Jesus' command. They added things that are not in the Bible and that is why they didn't want Catholics to read it. They still don't.

Luther transformed the world by leading people to the truth of the Word of God. We have "free will". We can believe in the Word of God or we can believe in Catholicism or Islam or Buddhism, but we have a choice now.

Born again believers in Jesus ARE one in the Holy Spirit. And that is what Jesus meant.

And here Catholics follow the Bible.

'For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.' Malachi 1:11

Catholics make an offering, sacrifice, to God. The Gentile Baptists aren't doing that. They aren't even offering incense.

It isn't true that only priests commune with God. It is true that only priests can confect the Eucharist. But everyone offers the Eucharistic sacrifice to God. That God calls certain men to a position isn't strange at all. Not everyone was an Apostle after all. And all who weren't were expected to obey their authority, even if at times they acted poorly or even made bad prudential decisions.

You missed the point of Christ entirely.

Churches are the quickest way to destroy a relationship with God.

Luther was on the right track.

That's not what the bible teaches:

Ephesians 4:4-6 - “Careful to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. One body and one Spirit; as you are called in the hope of your calling. One Lord, one faith, one baptism."

We did not shy from giving our periodical the title "the Lutheran" and so we consider it our duty to give answer to those who might ask us what this name means and why we would use it. There are not a few honest Lutherans who become quite embarrassed when this is said to them by our opponents. But this accusation is so fictitious, that it will be shown to be without basis as soon as we consider the matter more closely. First, it is a mistake if it is believed that Lutherans took this name for themselves. History reports to us instead that they were first given this name by their opponents in order to insult them. Dr. Eck, who held that well known disputation with Luther in Leipzig, was the first to call those who held to Luther's teaching by that name. We see clearly what Luther thought of this in a writing which he completed in 1522: "Admonition Against Insurrection," in which he says among other things:

I ask that my name be left silent and people not call themselves Lutheran, but rather Christians.

The Holy Spirit doesn't lead people to chaos, which is what Protestantism does. You've identified the problem of Protestantism, pride. It is the idea of me and Jesus. The Church is a community. It isn't a bunch of individuals on their own reading a book. It is humbling to accept the authority of someone else. But Jesus showed us the way with his divine humility.

Catholics are the ones truly following Jesus. When He said unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man you have no life in you, they took him at His word. When he said to offer a memorial sacrifice they did.

The r.c. thought that people could be forced to do good.

That never quite worked out, especially once their earthly power was shaken.


It's God that does the forcing.

People don't fight over God. They fight over money and power.

Malachi was speaking of the animal sacrifice performed in his time. Jesus was the PERFECT sacrifice. The ultimate sacrifice. He did it all. There is no need for a "sacrifice" anymore.


As a former Catholic, I can tell you that many Catholics don't attend Mass at all. Many Catholics believe that abortion on demand is okay. Many Catholics don't ever talk about their faith in Jesus openly except at Mass or a prayer ceremony. Many Catholics drink and smoke and having sex outside of marriage is okay. I know that because I was once there. Family and friends were the same. All Catholic and not really concerned about God until Sunday IF they attended Mass.

Unfortunately, the world is moving into the Protestant Church also now.

It is probably not a coincidenca that Protestantism was invented in Germany by a german monk.

Germans often lack humility and are very prideful. They think they know better than everyone else.

Whatever people say about our history, our wars etc. the reformation was truly the greatest mistake that Germany ever inflicted upon the world.

Christ created the Church. He set up leaders. They even elected a replacement for Judas. They had a council. Church life isn't perfect because the Church is full of sinners. The answer to that challenge isn't to leave the Church.

Yes, the book of Hebrews explains why and how Christ ended the daily sacrifice and became our great high priest.
As Christians, and as affirmed by Peter, we are a noble priesthood with no need of any but Christ.
Through Him, we are able to approach the Throne of God ourselves.

Malachi is talking about a pure or perfect sacrifice. That sacrifice is of course Jesus. The sacrifice has been made. The offering is the sacrifice of Jesus. That can be offered to God and is by Catholics. What pure sacrifice are Protestants offering to God to fulfill this prophesy?

You are right that lots of Catholics don't have a deep faith or live a good life. Jesus handpicked Judas and yet he betrayed Christ. But what does that have to do with the truth of the Faith? At the same time the Catholic Church has produced wonderful Saints. If you follow the Church's teaching you will be a Saint. If you don't then it's on you. But people failing doesn't disprove the Catholic Church at all.

The radical individualism of Protestantism is wrong. Read 1 Corinthians 12. 'And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.' Me and Jesus defies Holy Scripture.

The Roman Catholic monstrosity is of her mother Babylon. Born in the Chaldees, it was wounded for a bit and is now revived. History demonstrates the truth of the words of scripture and it, the Word of God, testifies against the RC 'church'. The priests of Baal (kahan Baal:cannibals:eat flesh/drink blood:mass) wore white robes and pointed hats and worshiped a flaming cross. Ancient pagans worshiped Dagon, the fish god (fish mouth hats anyone?)

Reading Two Babylons by Alexander Hislop and 50 Years in the 'Church' of Rome will tell you everything you need to know about the RC 'church'.

Back to works, where would civilization be if the r.c. hadn't set up so many schools and hospitals?

She was the last resort for orphans and so many unfortunates.

And when push comes to shove with all this occult messing around, why do practitioners turn to Jesus, whose name the r.c. single-handedly kept alive all these centuries?

The r.c. adopted some of the symbols and built churches on most of the places of pagan worship to demonstrate the power of Jesus. Many were cured of superstition in this fashion.

They are not Christians. 'Evangelicals' are deceivers when they yoke up with Rome. And trust me, Catholics don't believe evangelicals are saved. They believe they are heretics, worthy of death, as a former Council dictated. Their church fathers have written that lying for power or money is acceptable and efficacious for their church, therefore they can act all buddy buddy with evangelicals all the way to the not so proverbial bank. Read 50 Years in the Church of Rome and you'll understand why they want to run schools. Condemning Galileo as a heretic. They don't want education beyond what their pope believes is true. They'll educate to that point.

Secular rulers have always used religions to manipulate the masses. Sometimes church leaders were complicit to preserve the mission.
