Either way take it as a learning experience and remember that having coffee with someone who is not already your friend is either gonna be for business or sex. Since your friend would not state the business it's obvious the guy wanted to hook up with you.

You should grill your friend for being underhanded and get them to pass it on that you are not interested in this person.
