They are conducting a full role call now to determine which Senators are missing. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71357149 McConnell just said he "moves to instruct the sergeant of arms to request the presence of the absent senators" the motion was seconded. Now that the bitch has been silenced They will come in now. No one wanted to listen to her rambling for an hour. I'm sure her job was just to delay. That's why she was desperate to get back up their. Some of the dem's might not have planned to be there until after her 3 hour speech. |

We Rs have a razor thin margin with him, how long will his seat be vacant? Will Alabama appoint someone? Quoting: docsquat The governor should appoint someone until the next election cycle. Rumors say Luther Strange, but could be anyone with our governor facing impeachment. |

Quoting: docsquat On Wednesday, February 1, 2017, The Decatur Times Daily’s, Mary Sell reported that Alabama Governor Robert Bentley has narrowed his list of potential picks to replace US Sen. Anonymous Coward User ID: 73807544 United States 02/07/2017 08:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My understanding that the current Senate Democtrats all-night rant is merely the same type of venting they engaged in the night before relating to DeVos' confirmation vote today. Quoting: Rev. Bob Dobbs This childish venting about the qualifications of Jeff Sessions is not before the full Senate. The Senate today voted for cloture (no more debate) regarding the Sessions confirmation vote tomorrow. Tomorrow will just be a straight up or down vote on Confirmation. If the Senate Democrats failed to cull just ONE Republican vote against DeVos today using the same tactic the night before, I believe that they will also fail to sway ANY Republican vote against Sessions tomorrow as he has STRONGER support among his colleagues in the Senate than DeVos enjoyed. This is just grandstanding, with the aire of panick and desperation in their voices, on the part of the Senate Democrats who know that they haven't the slightest chance of moving any Senator, Republican or Democrat, from their previously voiced pro-Sessions posistion. Donald Trump has just proved himself a Grandmaster Chess Player in his timing and sequencing of these critical Senate confirmations of his Nominees. You can tell by their shrillness and overall demeanor that the Democrats are beginning to realize the size of the tsunami which is about to engulf them. Just now, after a motion by McConnell noting that she was in violation of Senate rules by smearing Sessions, Elizabeth Warren was determined to be out of order by the presiding president and was ordered to sit down. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71357149 McConnell just said he "moves to instruct the sergeant of arms to request the presence of the absent senators" the motion was seconded. Now that the bitch has been silenced She called for a quorum to retaliate for being shut up. She created the delay since they wouldn't let her continue babbling. Hardly anyone was there while she rambled on for an hour and a half, and when they finally sat her down, she called a quorum. |
