True, but the problem arises when you live in a Red State like Oklahoma. Only 33% of the population voted for Hillary. Our Black population is small, but we have a large Native American population (most voted for Trump).

We are truly a Red State since none of our Counties turned Blue. This means there is a Fifth Column of Democrats that are ultra left in every County in every State....

Most southerners didn't own slaves. Democrats were the slave tyrants, just as they are today. Most southerners fought because of fear of govt control. You only have to look at the history of most southerners at the time, and understand WHY they feared total govt control. Even today, true southerners are the ones who push back at govt tyranny.

I stumbled upon a lot of stuff I knew nothing about while researching my ancestry. Several of my ggg-grandfathers were "copperheads". They were also involved in "The Knights of the Golden Circle." 2 of them were formally charged for their activity. After the war, there was no way their original plan could come to fruition so they just tweaked it. That's what we're seeing now.
