New Logan movie was unlike anything you'll ever see again as a superhero movie. | |

I wont be spending one dime on these fucks movies but will enjoy their work. Until these fucks get their priorities right and stop with the Globalist/Communist anti American bullshit I am done funding their jet setting lifestyle. |

It's so different in the approach with a aged out team of geriatric superheros at the end of their years barely keeping it together, struggling to just put food on the table, living in a dilapidated abandon factory and in hiding. They are in a very dark place and clearly finished with their superhero past. Quoting: YouAreDreaming So it's not one of those fun happy ending movies where everyone flashes how cool their powers are and show off their spandex butts. It is a really dark, gritty movie that actually invokes emotion and makes you feel for the characters and their plight. I can see where it might piss of a lot of fans expecting an Xmen type vibe but this movie was so different, so unexpected and so great as a movie it is in a class all it's own. With the R-Rating the violence was extreme and gory but at the same time not the central focus of the movie. It's not perfect but it's raw, unfiltered and definitely way better than I expected based on how little I cared about the last Wolverine movie. I never feel anything emotionally from movies, not in decades but this was the first time I was actually emotionally connected to the story and wow... I didn't know a superhero movie could do that. Expect the unexpected with this, it's so out there as a story it's fantastic and fresh. Serious question: Since that is the point of what movies do, how do you not feel emotions? I'd like to learn that trick. They are overwhelming at times. Sorry to derail but it's an honest question for you Opie. |

This was about as libtard free as a movie can get for once... no sense of an agenda here just a really compelling story with claws. |

I'd like to learn that trick. They are overwhelming at times. Sorry to derail but it's an honest question for you Opie. I'm usually not drawn in emotionally to a movie, I barely get a buzz from horror, or a heart string pulled by a drama. Mostly I just watch them for interest in what the story offers. It has to really pull me into the story for me to connect emotionally. I'd say Logan caught me off guard as I kept my exposure to what it was about to an absolute minimum. Maybe if I knew before hand I wouldn't have had a dramatic connection anticipating the vital plot points in the characters. |

Remember the inception of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? It was very dark and gritty in the beginning. Then it became a cartoon and was all but ruined. I think my brother still has the first book. |

Quoting: Steve8511 Another director thinking it's the way the public wants it. If the actors where in the prime of their lives I would agree, but this fits given the actual age of the actors. The 90 year old Xavier suffering from a degenerative brain disorder making his powers now dangerous and unstable is probably not what most fans would want to see, but in this story grounds the character in reality and true human experience. I get your point though, but I think this time it really fits the bill. |

The "fan service", jokes, strange action scenes, and overall campy B-film feel have ruined superhero movies for me. I can't really think of a movie I didn't enjoy in some way, but I still know when the movie wasn't good. For example, I got a few laughs, or it provoked some idea - but you couldn't pay me to watch it again. Eh. I might check it out in a few years when it's in the discount bin on Black Friday. I would also like to add that they have now opened a whole new story line (don't want to be a spoiler) with the mutants. So sad to see all these older actors get written out if the scripts, but it truly was a brilliant way to do it. Yes it did show us the real world issues of these aging super humans, and was definitely a well written script. I surely was wNting Hugh to get another emergency injection!!!!!!! So goodbye daddy, hello Lauren!!!! Pretty good flick. MrsTomatoHead |
