Phone Calls With No Answer

Yes - all the time. I called the FCC and asked them about this. It is apparently a scam...

They hope that you will call them back, and you will be charged $90 per minute for the call. They will be pleasant and keep you on the phone for a few minutes while they check there records...

Ignore it, and NEVER call the number back.

Some teleemarketer auto dialers do that while they detect if a human answers before connecting the call to the telemarketing operator.

It's done so the operator always has a person on the line as soon as one call ends. Sometimes there's quite a bit of silence on the line when you pick up if all of the telemarketing operators are busy.

I hardly ever pick up a call from an unknown number. The odd time that I do, it's a telemarketer or a scammer.

Maybe half an hour ago, I had a phone call that showed up with the name "Anonymous" on caller id and obviously no phone number.

No but I did get put into a group text with all other numbers exactly like mine with one number different at the end lol. We all became friends. Funny how stuff happens.

its automated and when you pick up it goes on a list as an active line that soeone answers and they sell the bulk lists to marketers

You know, just because the phone rings, doesn't mean you have to answer it. Some people are so quick to take a call, even if they don't know who is calling. If your not in my contacts, you don't get to talk to me. Lonely, lonely people, make real friends and don't worry about Likes either.

It is recording and documenting your voice based upon one word, "hello".
